QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
We are the Turkey Liaison Office of an American company operating in the foreign trade of fresh and processed food on a global scale. We are looking for an International Trade Assistant to be employed under a limited-term contract at our office centrally located in Taksim, İstanbul. This job might lead to repeat or long-term opportunities for the high-performance candidate. Job Description Under the direction and supervision of the Country Representative, the International Trade Assistant will:
- Communicate with existing and potential clients and suppliers
- Set up operational and logistical procedures
- Follow up orders to completion
- Monitor fresh produce business in Turkey and abroad
- Travel to domestic production sites as needed
- Help with accounting and reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Job Specification Minimally required qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in business from a reputable university in Turkey or abroad
- Fluency in English, oral and written, developed at an English-speaking university or high school
- Completed coursework in international trade and/or logistics
- Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Windows
- Ability to travel within Turkey
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Excellent communication and people skills
Additional preferred qualifications for the ideal candidate are as follows:
- Degree or certificate in international business
- Work experience in international trade and/or logistics
- Interest in / knowledge of fresh produce (fruits and vegetables)
- Mastery of Outlook and Excel
