• Thorough knowledge of the principles of functional and nonfunctional testing, and a track record of innovation in testing.
• Experience in creating test frameworks and strategy, choosing automated testing tools and creating testing standards
• Hands-on testing experience within a whole range of functional testing including UAT, acceptance and system testing, both manual and automated testing
• Experience in working with at least one automated testing tool, plus an interest in working with Open Source testing tools like Selenium.
• Experience in performance testing tools like JMeter, as well as in troubleshooting and resolving performance related issues.
• High level analytical and problem solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to investigate complex issues and make informed decisions about them when written guidelines are not necessarily available.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a passion for working in highly collaborative environments.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.

The role of a QA is to work with the team to create a product with an acceptable level of quality that meets the needs of the users in terms of functionality, reliability, usability, performance and security.

Responsibilities:

• Propose test strategy options that address the quality needs of the organization and users.
• Lead the team in preparing the testing strategy which should include the testing scope of the project, responsibilities, environments required, testing approach, tools, testing schedule, reporting and resource requirements.
• Collaborate extensively with all team members, including BA’s, developers, operations and business to understand the business requirements, technical implementation and determine the best way to test the solution.
• Create test scenarios and test cases in collaboration with other team members.
• Collaborate with team members on the definition of acceptance criteria.
• Creation and maintenance of various tests that consist of functional and integration, regression, exploratory, end-to-end, performance and other non-functional tests. These tests are automated as much as possible or performed manually where applicable.
• Developing and maintaining automated functional tests, using appropriate tools (such as Selenium). Extending and maintaining the regression test suite.
• Identification and verification of issues identified and raised by any member of the team. Maintain the issue backlog, work closely with other team members to troubleshoot issues and identify the root cause. Performing manual tests, recording the results and raising defects.
