Product Technologist

A unique opportunity to join in our fast growing New Look Turkey Sourcing Office. We are engaged in designing and short-term producing of clothing and related articles.
We are looking for a Product Technologist to join our sourcing team;

Technologist will be responsible for supporting multiple departments from first development through to delivery by developing a range that meets customer requirements for fabric, fit and quality in order to help maximizing sales and profit opportunities, minimizing risks and returns. Negotiate with supplier base to deliver consistent fit & fabric quality through established ways of working.
 

• University degree preferably on textile engineering or apparel related technical high school degree,
• At least 3 years of experience within technical departments of retailer/sourcing offices and in a manufacturing environment,
• Good level of technical knowledge on fabric, fit and construction. Experience on different product groups will be advantageous,
• Good understanding of sizing, pattern, grading, product safety and appropriate construction methods,
• Technical experience on different product groups, especially on jerseyand knitwear fabrics, able to select appropriate qualities and assess performance results according to New Look fabric standards,
• Excellent communication skills in both Turkish and English,
• Must be available to travel abroad and domestically.

İŞ TANIMI

• Acting as a part of the technical team, reporting into the Department Head, from first development stage through to production in all technical aspects by liaising with design, buying, merchandising, technology teams and suppliers,
• Maintaining quality, fit, testing and grading standards to uphold New Look compliance,
• Organising fabric and garment risk assessments in order to resolve issues before production, prepare meeting notes and share with all relevant parties as well as follow up of comments,
• Reviewing fabric & trim specs and product testing with the ability to comment on failed specifications and advise solutions to improve performance of the fabrics,
• Checking and approving fit and construction in country to support consistent, fast and smooth run of the products according to the critical path,
• Preparing all necessary paperwork for samples before submission to counterparts in the head office,
• Creating reports showing fit and make-up accuracy performances and KPIs for suppliers,
• Understanding product construction and suitability for mass production,
• Negotiating effectively with external and internal teams to achieve desired product quality objectives for the right price and timescale.
