• Planning vehicle structures to achieve the performance
• Predicting the performance

• Researching state of the art and beyond state of the art technologies for implementation in future vehicles

Team / Division Description
Vehicle Performance Engineering division (VPE) is part of the Research and Development group at Toyota Motor Europe Technical Center in Zaventem, Belgium. Our division is in charge of:
• Identifying customer requirements and turning them into development targets for vehicles, their subsystems, up to each component.

• Guiding body engineers to design structures that achieve performance, while meeting quality, cost and feasibility requirements

Your Responsibilities
• For vehicle development you will organise and run the activities to develop the required performances to reach the agreed target within the project milestones.
• You will analyse the results and provide designers and other divisions with directions how to improve/solve problems (achieve required performance) and/or evaluate impacts of changes needed by others (optimise designs).
• You will run benchmarks of competitors and join research activities with external parties to understand future trends and development needs. Possibly you will lead/influence them and reflect them to internal predevelopment activities.
• You will strongly utilise external parties (Suppliers, Lab) and monitor their activity and performance, building a network not only inside, but also outside of the company.
Your Profile
• Master or PhD degree in Engineering (Mechanical, automotive, aerospace)
• A few years of experience in passive or active safety performance is an asset
• Knowledge of CAD and CAE programs for crash or stress analysis is an asset
• Team player with good communication skills, flexible mind and challenge spirit
• Good practical problem solving skills
• Willing to open for training in Toyota headquarters in Japan
• Fluency in English is a must, additional European language skills are an asset
