QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Koç University School of Medicine will be hiring a Laboratory Technician with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in related fields ( Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry/engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electric-Electronic Engineering, Material Sciences, etc.)
- Preferably two years experience in laboratory (outside of coursework) and familiarity with blood and blood coagulation projects, preparation of buffers, Bioassays, and Biochemistry assays, Comsol, L-Edit program, Lab-View program, AutoCAD, clean room.
- Demonstrable competencies such as problem solving, planning and organisation
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Turkish
- Professional use of MS Office applications
- No military obligation for male candidates
İŞ TANIMI
Our laboratory (http://home.ku.edu.tr/~ozlemyalcin/index.html) studies the blood rheology, hemodynamics, circulation and hemostasis. We want to develop a cost-effective, bedside global clotting (coagulation) diagnostic device for rapid evaluation of hemostatic function. We also want to understand fluidity of blood, detailed identification of target proteins and signal transduction mechanisms which are involved in regulatory mechanisms of circulatory function.
The successful candidate will oversee ordering laboratory supplies, maintain inventory, blood preparation, perform targeted coagulation device based thromboelastogram experiments and coagulation tests, run comparative experiments with our coagulation device and commercially available devices. In addition, there are also numerous opportunities for independent research.
