QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The incumbent's broad knowledge of infrastructure technologies and commercial knowledge will allow them to make informed and tactical decisions to minimize the impact of their decisions/actions.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred in engineering related field)
  • Willing to work in the network area
  • Experienced about Cisco (router, switch, security and management)
  • Have knowledge about VoIP, Routing, Switching, Wireless, Cisco Works, Ip telephony
  • Have CCNA training
  • Experience in Managed Services Platform and global point of view
  • Free to travel
  • Excellent English proficiency in terms of writing and speaking
  • Flexible in working hours
  • Strong skills about, planning, analytical skills, attention to details

İŞ TANIMI

Responsibility for the 24x7 delivery of Infrastructure Network Services in line with PI ITIL processes to agreed Service Level Agreements and KPI targets. Takes ownership of related incidents and problems and works with 3rd Parties, Direct Reports and other BIS teams to determine a strategic approach to resolution. Responsible for managing relevant major incidents and acts as point of escalation for specific Network services & processes.

Ensures controlled delivery of change to the IT Network architecture and its seamless integration into support.

  • Service Delivery - Accountable for specific Infrastructure Network support services within country, such as WAN, LAN, Voice and others as specified in ETS Service Catalogue. Ensures that the services managed are monitored and maintained to high levels of quality, standards and operability as defined within negotiated and agreed service level agreements, service level parameters, contracts and key performance indicators.
  • Process Optimisation - Consistently apply quality and continuous improvement plans. Feed recommendations for change into ETS Network SDM as appropriate. Drive efficiency and effectiveness of all defined processes for Country Network services including incident, problem, baseline change, capacity, availability and continuity.
  • Reports - Produce and maintain an appropriate and up-to-date availability plan that reflects the needs of relevant network services. Assist and manage the diagnosis and resolution of availability related incidents and problems working in conjunction with Regional and Sector SA teams. Accountable for producing management information and monitors and reports on the effectiveness of the processes against agreed KPI targets. Works with Service providers and BIS teams to define and deliver Service Improvement plans.
  • Performance Reviews - Conduct regular SLA reviews with ETS Network SDM.
  • Risk Management - Proactively manage and monitor all processes within remit to identify potential risks and issues. In particular ensure that security policies as defined by Europe & Global PI security teams are followed monitored and sustained within Country\Regional Network services. Responsible for supporting of the Country\Region response to international virus outbreaks coordinated by security teams.
  • Issue Management - Point of escalation for all country network service issues (including out of hours support) to standard support contract terms. Joint responsibility with the Compute Lead, for managing major incidents within the Infrastructure area.
  • People Management - Provides effective people management responsibilities for direct reports, ensuring stretch objectives, progress reports and career development guidance. Responsible for ensuring that team builds & sustains competence in relevant infrastructure technologies. Agree standards and quality measures for the support team to adhere to.
  • Project Delivery and Change Management - Responsible for the delivery and acceptance of specific project changes that impacts Network services, ensuring minimal impact and sustainability. Work with regional PMs to track and manage delivery of new services. Initial escalation point for PM for delivery issues
  • Supplier Management - Manage local suppliers and the PI internal service providers in line with the scope agreed with the Sector Network SDM and other BIS Service Delivery Managers to provide seamless and cost effective quality of IT service to the business.


Non Financial:

  • Multiple touch points with broader Regional & European functions, building/exploiting relationships to ensure team are aware of activities which may impact service as well as enhance capability.
  • Will be required to provide issue escalation and coordination outside of core office hours
  • Travel abroad and within Region may be required
  • Overall Staff responsibility for the Network team


Financial

  • No direct budget responsibility but accountable for the reconciliation and appropriate challenge of all relevant third party costs for Network services.


Autonomy, Responsibility and Authority

  • The role has full responsibility for defined areas of activity and quality work performed as a manager.
  • Acts as an escalation point for team and 3rd party service providers
  • Communicates progress, issues and conflicts to key stakeholders on a timely basis
  • Manages day to day activities of contract and 3rd party resources
  • Proactively identifies and works to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Represents Country and Sector BIS requirements and direction on local & sector led CABs
  • Leads specific major incidents which can arise outside of normal working hours


Influence

  • Has ownership over own activities and technically will be aware of relationship between different Infrastructure technologies as well as the relationship between incident, problem and change disciplines.
  • Has a good working knowledge of non-specialist Infrastructure technologies
  • External influence over key suppliers


Complexity of Work

  • Performs a broad range of intermediate/advanced activities in a wide variety of contexts. Detailed knowledge of some of the following areas:
    • PI/BT global network & architecture - key
    • Routing - BGP extensively used, uncommon in Enterprise networks.
    • Switching
    • Security standards - PI & best practice.
    • Firewalls
    • VPN
    • Wireless
    • Voice
    • DHCP/DNS
