QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in operational roles as; Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Planning, Process / Continuous Improvement Manager within Supply Chain function of the consumer goods / automobile industry
• Solid experience in project management, business partnering, operation/support
• Excellent command of English

To become the best manufacturing in the industry in cost and capital efficiency, a different mind ware is required: a mind-set where transparent, current and easily available global performance picture helps to focus on where to improve faster to deliver challenging targets. In order to strengthen our team, we are looking for a high-calibre “Industrial Performance Manager or Assistant Manager”. Depending on the calibre of the incumbent, the role will be offered Assistant Manager or ManagerIndustrial Performance, the critical enabler of ‘World Class Factories’, is about integrating people, systems and processes to drive zero waste, losses and defects. Implementing Industrial Performance will provide a clearer link between operations and finance, providing transparent, accurate and near real time information to support better decision making. Industrial Performance will also provide clear and consistent visibility of capacity, supporting Unilever’s drive to improve Return on Assets to fuel business growth.
The role of Industrial Performance Factory Manager links operations with finance in the relevant ERP systems (SAP) to drive the Return on Assets mindset by which to evaluate the impact of new products being introduced to the factory. The role provides the principal link between the factory and wider specialists in Operations, Planning, Finance, Engineering, Research and Development and Quality. This interaction will enable the level of analysis required to prioritise capital spend programmes, review alternative investment opportunities, identify improvement opportunities and drivers of factory cost.
Reduces Factory Costs
• Sets the baseline for Manufacturing Standards
• Ensure compliance to the MMP Code
• Ensures the database cost is calculated properly and maintained in the system to enable standard costing of products
• Identifies productivity improvement opportunities and maximizes manufacturing capacity
• Optimises layouts, shift systems, labour requirements
• Reduces waste
• Optimises energy use
Identifies and transfers Best Practice
• Measures factory performance against standard metrics (Men, Machine, Material and Method)
• Evaluates areas of Best Practice (internal and external) against financial targets
• Introduces Best Practice to factories where appropriate
• Codifies Best Practice through written standards and policy
New Product Introduction
• Provides mitigating actions where necessary.
• Provides link between Operations, Planning, Finance, Engineering, Research and Development and Quality.
• Evaluates impact of new product introduction into factory.
Asset Management
• Evaluates and prioritizes capital spend programme
• Evaluates investment alternatives
