• University degree from a relevant discipline, preferably from engineering
• 5+ years experience working with Redhat Linux and Vmware
• Experience working in a large, enterprise environment with 50+ of servers
• Must have excellent working experience with problem solving, troubleshooting and analysis
• Must have excellent working experience administering Redhat Linux and Vmware
• Must have excellent working experience administering RHEL Cluster
• Must have very good shell scripting capabilities
• Must have good knowledge of Virtualization, Storage, SAN, Network
• Fluency in English
• Male candidates must have completed their military services
• Should be a good team player and should be able perform well under stress

İŞ TANIMI

We are seeking a UNIX Management Senior Specialist with the will and ambition to work in UNIX Services Management Function, reporting UNIX Services Manager of Vodafone Turkey.

Role Purpose
 

• To maintain and operate the UNIX infrastructure including upgrades and security patches
• To administer and give support for the UNIX infrastructure on 24*7 basis, provide technical expertise/consultancy.
• To prepare system backup and recovery configurations for the UNIX infrastructure, implementing disaster recovery procedures

Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities:

• Responsible for installing, configuring, implementing and troubleshooting any issues for the Unix infrastructure that include Operating System, Cluster, Volume Manager and Virtualization software.
• Managing and supporting a mixed environment of Unix systems. (HP, Oracle, IBM)
• Performs troubleshooting, incident and error handling for systems
• Maintain operational readiness ensuring complete recovery in the event of a disaster. Attend DR tests regularly, as outlined in the company policies and procedures to ensure DR functionality. Update the policies and procedures as required.
• Implementing change management processes and user requests on systems
• Evaluation of new versions, patches, firmwares and security patches. Implementing upgrades and security patches regularly.
• Implementing security policies on servers according to the best practices and company procedures.
• Periodic monitoring of systems, performance tuning.
