QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Would you like to be a part of “Global Logistics Center” team in Turkey which won the Award of Excellence in the Innovation category by Navis in 2017?

YILPORT Holding globally operates 22 marine ports and terminals in the span of 11 years. Due to this rapid growth and YILPORT Holding's mission of being ranked among top 10 global terminal operators by 2025, we have harnessed new innovations such as Global Logistics Center (GLC), transforming it into the only private port operator to provide centralized services to all our international terminals from one center.

Global Logistics Center was established in 2015, currently planning and managing 3 container terminals, 1 bulk terminal, and 1 intermodal terminal in Gebze, Gemlik, Oslo, and Stockholm. YILPORT Gavle Container Terminal, Baltic Sea Gateways, YPH LATAM and Iberian Terminals are also in line for deployment in near future.

The overall aim is to centralize Terminal Planning, TOS Deployment, Customer Services and Data Control/Reporting for successful management of vessel, berth, yard, equipment and gate operations.

What do we do in Global Logistics Center?

Global Logistics Center is providing service in three functions: Planning, Reporting and Customer Services.

Planning Team effectively provides planning support to all local operation teams.
          
·         Effectively provide planning support to local operations in different countries,
·         Prepare vessel loading and discharging stowage plans by using TOS (Terminal Operation System,Navis) while ensuring that all customer requests meet the demands,
·         Plan all yard activities including interfacility transfers and CFS (Container Freight Services) service orders,
·         Prepare and improve yard strategies in line and aligned with the general and daily needs of local operations,
·         Monitor the key performance indicators of the terminals to ensure that targets are achieved and operational flows are being followed efficiently,
·         Monitor and dispatch the equipment in terminal and maximize equipment utilization while ensuring all operational flows are followed,

TOS Deployment and Reporting Team collaborates with local operation teams to analyze in detail all terminal operational processes from a service and system point of view.

·         Effectively collect data from system and other departments to prepare monthly, shift-based, daily status and performance reports for all terminals,
·         Research, review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing reports that are in line with Global Logistics Center’s strategy,
·         Prepare the key performance indicators (KPIs) that support the measurable goals of the Global Logistics Center,
·         Retrieve and utilize information from the Navis system and manage the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) files accordingly,
 
Customer Service Team serves as liaison between operation, management and customer to improve customer and business productivity in line with the Global Logistics Center’s goals.

·         Create a positive first impression with customers by providing professional, efficient, and customer focused service through phone and e-mail in timely and accurate manner,
·         Serve as liaison between operation, management and customer to improve customer and business productivity in line with the Global Logistics Center’s goals,
·         Analyze customer complaints and provide appropriate corrective actions in a timely manner,
·         Prepare documentation and reports on routine customer correspondence for future reference purpose,
·         Communicate customer feedback to Operation, Planning, and Business Development departments to develop processes for better serving customers,
·         Maintain weekly reports on customer inquiries, responses and feedback to develop customer service analytics and trends,

Currently, we are looking for a Shift Manager position for our growing and dynamic team at Global Logistics Center based in YILPORT Holding Gebze terminal inTURKEY.
  • Graduated from related fields of universities preferably in Maritime Business and Administration or Logistics,
  • Minimum 7 years of container operations experience in senior roles and across all functions,
  • Minimum 3 years of team management experience in container terminal operations environment, or similar, related industry,
  • Written and oral fluency in English is a must (additional languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, Norwegian and Swedish are preferable),
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.),
  • Working knowledge of TOS (preferably Navis),
  • Excellent analytical skills, teamwork skills and multi-task orientation,
  • A ‘can do’ approach, willingness to learn and extend the role above and beyond the job description,
  • Is self-directed and self-motivated, able to work both independently and within a highly collaborative team environment,
  • Have customer, quality, process and result driven approach,
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to organize and prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and complete tasks per deadlines,
  • Capability to anticipate problems by recognizing the key issues in problems and creating contingency plans and alternative solutions,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills interact with people from various countries, cultures and all business levels,
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills combined with good counselling and listening skills,
  • Ability to work in a 3 shift system covering day, night, weekend and holiday duty (when required overtime work may arise.)


İŞ TANIMI

Reporting to Global Logistics Center Director, Shift Manager will lead teams in GLC such as planning, customer service and reporting in shifts to achieve 24/7 operational excellence across all areas of the terminal operations and ensure an excellent service delivery and productivity defined in advanced with protocols or agreements at all times.
 
  • Manage, motivate and instruct all GLC team members, set priorities and structure tasks and goals,
  • Provide effective organization and control of all GLC functions during designated shift period to meet planned objectives,
  • Coordinate planning and operations for terminals to ensure effective ship working programs are set and maintained to ensure vessels meet sailing or berthing deadlines,
  • Enable efficient and safe utilization of terminal facilities, equipment and operations manpower to achieve optimum container throughput as efficiently as possible,
  • Monitor operational performance in terminals to proactively make necessary changes and solve problems,
  • Provide effective communication to all stakeholders (operation teams, GLC teams, liners and customers, etc.) to ensure expectations are met and progress is effectively communicated,
  • Implement HSE regulations and ensure that they are in compliance with the International/ Local requirements,
  • Ensure compliance with all IMO, regulatory and best practices requirements
  • Provide first line of response for emergency situations and assessments
