·         Supply chain management, engineering or business degree preferred. Rubber / chemical commodity knowledge
·         Min 3 years’ experience with significant direct experience in managing procurement, supply and spend management. Demonstrated success in the development and execution of Commodity strategies and driving year over year cost-out. Knowledge of global sourcing, material planning & replenishment models, international & domestic transportation, global trade regulations.
·         Ability to understand the business needs, technical and functional requirements at plant and regional level
·         Knowledge of cost drivers –  Understanding of market conditions ; Understands technical specifications, product performance requirements, supply chain processes and end user expectations
·         Possesses knowledge of Industry trends and risks, incl. regulatory environment
·         Professional functional experiences in following areas: needs / specifications gathering, bidding, negotiation, supplier recommendation & selection, transition planning, program deployment, supplier management incl supplier relationship and supplier performance management. Area of focus may include business continuity planning & risk mitigation. Strong negotiation, project management and planning skills
·         Ability to develop and negotiate effective commercial contracts on behalf of Eaton.
·         Understands international Trade Management implication, incl tax, duty and customs tariff implications
·         Must be able to effectively communicate to a diverse group of stakeholders including senior management, operations and supply chain management.
·         Results oriented, team player. Must demonstrate a bias for action and implementation.

Primary Function:
 
Responsible to manage the development and the deployment of the direct material commodity for hose materials, purchased by Hydraulics group in EMEA region, in alignment with the Global SCM team to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply of direct materials & services that meet the organization’s costs goals (cost out, economics) and performance goals (on-time delivery OTD, quality DPPM, payment OTD).

Responsible for managing the commodity in the sourcing, supplier selection and relationship building with key suppliers to leverage Eaton’s purchases reduce cost and improve supplier performance with the support of global and regional procurement organizations.

Essential Functions:
·         Develop, align and deploy effective direct material commodity management for polymers, chemicals, oils and fillers used in the production of rubber compounds across Hydraulics group in the EMEA region with responsibility to positively impact associated annual commodity spend – delivering annual value in terms of cost out, inflation mitigation, performance and process improvement. Commodity management must encompass Eaton business requirements, market forces, positioning of the commodity, supplier relationship and performance management approach, cost breakdown –  cost models – cost out opportunities, risk analysis including barriers to change.
·         Review current commodity strategies, update with latest internal and external environmental factors, create strategy, obtain organizational consensus and alignment behind the strategy.  Implement and execute meeting the overall business and SCM goals. Monitor market evolution; perform market intelligence research including global sourcing opportunities and currency fluctuations as well as future trends both technical and environmental. Commodity strategies also to closely align with Hydraulics EMEA’s strategic plan and manufacturing strategies.
·         Leverage Eaton Hydraulics' spend and optimize Supply processes in order to achieve year over year cost out requirements, and improve supplier performance (delivery, quality and payment) throughout the supply chain
·         Classify supplier into “Preferred (Strategic)”, “NNB (Maintain)”, “Eliminate (Exit) “ and coordinate execution of plants to convert spend to either “Preferred” or “Maintain” supply base. Measure and address non-compliance in usage.
·         Coordinates the sourcing activities for the Commodity:
·         Negotiates and manages region-wide contracts with suppliers, conduct reverse auctions where appropriate.
·         Drive regional supply consolidation.
·         Build and maintain supplier relationship; introduce supplier collaboration where appropriate.
·         Assist Eaton plants in negotiating difficult situations, winning concessions without damaging relationships. Settles differences with a minimum of conflict, while being forceful, diplomatic and gaining trust
·         Build and maintain positive strong relationships and performance management structure with strategic supply base.

• Develop key suppliers to achieve financial and performance targets.
• Monitor supplier capacity and address gaps proactively and efficiently.
• Organize and lead Quarterly Business Review with the key Suppliers.
• Develop an Action plan by key supplier and follow up action items, drive continuous improvement and translate into a Pipeline of cost out projects.

·         Support innovation; identify, build business case, submit and implement efficient supply chain management solutions, structures, programs, technologies and systems including make & buy
·         Actively participate to the EMEA Procurement Council for Hydraulics by providing inputs in the development, improvement, implementation and enforcement of Procurement initiatives. Identify and report non-compliance and opportunities for improvement, working with Operations to drive consensus and alignment.
