QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Koç University’s Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations in Beyoğlu, İstanbul is dedicated to fostering research on the archaeology, art, heritage, and history of Anatolia through research, fellowship, and summer programs, exhibitions, conferences, library collections, and publications. To coordinate conferences, workshops, lectures, summer programs, and other activities and events in these areas, the center invites applications for the position of Program Coordinator.
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:
- MA degree in an ANAMED-related field (Archaeology, Art History, Heritage, History, Museology, etc.) conferred in or after 2012 or to be conferred by the commencement of the position
- Active interests and ideas for the development of new activities
- Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills for working within teams and managing program participants
- Ability to work independently and to track progress on multiple, simultaneous projects
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and spoken) in both English and Turkish with program participants, faculty, administration, staff, students, and researchers across Turkey; a third language is a plus
- Previous professional experience in cultural institutions. Being knowledgeable about the university procedures is an asset
- Flexibility in work schedule, as needed

İŞ TANIMI
The successful applicant will be ready to fulfill and complement the following roles, with specific reference to conferences, workshops, lectures, summer programs, and similar activities:
- Organizing weekly, monthly, and annual calendars of events in coordination with other ANAMED staff
- Managing all summer programs, including running application, review, registration, and orientation processes and communicating with summer program instructors regarding schedules, lectures, events, and other operational matters, as well as working with them to improve summer program curricula
- Managing activity-related advertisement, announcement, and communication processes, including preparation of flyers, posters, invitations, information packets, etc., in coordination with editors, translators, copy-editors, graphic designers, printers, etc.
- Handling all correspondence with activity participants, researchers, other stakeholders, related administrators, and the public
- Developing ideas for new activities and programs in conjunction with Koç University faculty, centers, and departments and/or in collaboration with other universities, museums, and research institutions
- Undertaking ANAMED’s share of operational responsibilities when co-organizing activities with other universities, museums, and research institutions
- Preparing and managing activity-related budgets, in coordination with the center director and manager
- Creating and updating activity-related content for internal records as well as for regular reports, publications, and websites
- Coordinating activity-related cooperation with various offices of Koç University, such as communications, corporate relations, information technology, library, comptroller’s office, and human resources
