HPC System Senior Specialist

Koç University will be hiring a HPC (High Performance Computing) System Administration Senior Specialist.
 
We are looking for a passionate System Administrator to be part of a large IT team supporting  Koc University main campus, and its extensions across Turkey with thousands of users with the following qualifications:

• At least Bachelor’s degree
• At least 5 years of experience in system administration
• Experience in the following technologies/software applications:Materials Studio, Matlab, Gaussian, Namd, OpenFoam, Ansy, Fluent, GNU ve Intel compilers
• IntelMPI, MPICH, OpenMPI, MVAPICH and other MPI implementations
• Preferably, have experience in parallel file systems like Lustre and/or BeeGFS
• Preferably, have experience and knowledge of InfiniBand network technology
• Preferably, have knowledge and experience about Sun GridEngine and Slurm resource and workload managers
• Experience in systems administration and automation, TCP/IP networking, virtualization and system troubleshooting
• Ability to write scripts (Bash, Python) to automate administrative tasks
• Experience in supporting a diverse user base, including students, administrative staff, and faculty
• Deep knowledge and experience in server and storage hardware
• Understanding of best practices and ability to implement them
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English

İŞ TANIMI

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux HPC servers, both physical and virtual
• Managing setup and provisioning of storage servers
• Initiating preventive maintenance and hardening on the systems as well as manage repair of system/environment problems
• Performing proactive analysis of infrastructure capacity and performance
• Documenting tasks, procedures, environments for setting up and maintaining systems
• Analyzing system faults and troubleshooting and run diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems
