Qualifications:
 
·         Bachelor degree required, MBA preferred
·         5-8 years direct import and export compliance experience in multinational companies, service company, or law firm - Product familiarity and experience managing people preferred.
·         Fluent in English, Experience in IPR, Capacity Sheet, Trade Registration experience
·         Subject-matter expertise in all relevant areas of trade compliance and experience in developing and delivering trade compliance training.
·         Experience in drafting formal correspondence with government agencies.
·         Proven ability to identify areas where process improvement is required, to develop process improvements with businesses, and to assist businesses in implementing those improvements.
·         Demonstrated problem-solving ability, communication skills, and cross-cultural awareness.
·         Detail oriented, possessing good analytical skills; able to anticipate problems and diffuse situations.
·         A strong team member, able to shift roles as required by the group dynamic (e.g. contributor, facilitator).
·         Self-motivated and able to simultaneously manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.
·         Proven use of Six-Sigma tools to drive process improvements is preferred.
·         Ability to interpret government regulations and translate into strategic impact on company goals.
·         Advanced knowledge of regulatory administrations governing jurisdictions relative to international trade, specifically those affecting the movement of goods and services.
·         Knowledge of audit and assessment procedures and evaluation of internal controls.
·         Working knowledge regarding the service capabilities, roles and responsibilities of customs brokers, freight forwarders and logistics service providers.
·         Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written word to all levels of corporate management, functional staffs, line level employees and government officials.
·         Strong analytical, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
·         Ability to think critically and have strong strategic planning and project/program management skills.

GTM Manager

Primary Function:
 
Position is responsible for import and export customs operations and compliance matters including export control to ensure that business is compliant with national and international trade regulations. Important part of this position is to keep regular contact with customs and other governmental bodies and to successfully implement and manage customs simplifications, duty savings procedures such as IPR, AEO and other trade registrations. This position shall lead development, implementation, and governance of internal trade policies.
Essential Functions:
·         Manages export and import transactions within the business to ensure that they are compliant with national and International Regulations.
·         Keeps regular contact with customs agents, sets expectations, KPIs and monitors performance.
·         Deploys compliance processes and procedures for Eaton in coordination with regional GTM.
·         Evaluates compliance status with various regulatory bodies including customs, export control, and applicable tax authorities for Eaton business.
·         Monitor and communicate trade compliance related policies, procedures, and economic issues that affect Eaton operations.
·         Provide regular reports to Corporate GTM on current initiatives, and outstanding GTM matters.
·         Conducts annual GTM self-assessment audits and deploys the processes which are outcome of this audits as OFI’s
·         Initiates, supports continuous improvement/cost out projects and coordinates the ultimate outcomes with related departments.
·         Manages the local Trade Management team.
·         Attend training as necessary to ensure identification and understanding of applicable GTM laws, regulations, and requirements.
·         Coordinate completion of the annual GTM self-assessment and ensure all local corrective actions are completed.
·         Contact point for coordination of on-site GTM assessments, audits, or concerns that surface.
·         Stop any import or export shipment that does not meet GTM laws, regulations, and requirements.
·         Ensure licenses are in place as required prior to the export of military or dual used items/technology.
·         Identify GTM points of contact in other functions (e.g., finance, HR, logistics) and communicates regularly with different functions, shares information, updates.
·         Ensure that required site-level procedures (e.g., desk procedures) are documented, maintained, and followed (i.e., regularly tested).
·         Escalate GTM-related government inquiries and suspected non-compliance.
·         Ensure that both import and export activities are compliant with the national and international regulations including but not limited to
a. Customs Classification
b. Valuation
c. Country of Origin
d. Free Trade Agreement, Preferences
e. Customs Clearance
f. Recordkeeping, Documentation
g. Export Control, Embargoes and Sanctions
·         Instructing and controlling third party service providers (customs agents, freight forwarders, warehouse operators)
·         Develop and maintain written GTM Procedures for his/her respective plant
