UL's Responsible Sourcing team provides global monitoring, training and consulting services to help customers comply with social and environmental laws and standards across the entire supply chain. UL's social responsibility and accountability audits measure social and environmental compliance with international standards and regulations. UL's Responsible Sourcing workplace assessment measures compliance with national legislation and international standards for: 

• Child labor
• Collective bargaining
• Discrimination
• Document review
• Dormitories
• Environment
• Freedom of association
• Harassment and abuse
• Health and safety
• Prison or forced labor
• Wages
• Work hours

In addition, UL can assess compliance with company-specific standards such as a supplier code of conduct or a variety of industry standards.

We are looking for:                                                                                                         

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (ideally in law or social sciences)
• Interest in international labor standards, human rights & environmental issues
• Driving license, willingness and ability to travel within the region and throughout the designated country (up to 80% annually)
• Knowledge of audits such as EICC, RJC, SMETA, Environmental, SA8000 certification, Conflict Free Smelter (CFS), Capacity Building and Continuous Improvement would be a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, proficiency in second European language as an asset
• Excellent oral communication skills; capable of addressing high executive audiences and conduct opening and closing conferences in front of multiple people
• Mathematical and analytical skills, creative and innovative thinking to problem solve and streamline processes
• Honest, trustworthy and reliable – able to maintain high ethical standards
• Ability to work in fast paced work environment both independently and in a group setting and to interact with all levels of staff
• Comfortable with confrontation, diplomatic, easy to talk to, friendly demeanor
• Ability to operate in a multicultural environment with persons varying in socio-economic status.

İŞ TANIMI

Your Challenge:

In this role you will perform high level social compliance assessments in a variety of manufacturing sites, farms, processing plants, company headquarters’, office settings, retail stores, extractive sites and/or other work related sites throughout a region. The social compliance auditor assesses and reports in accordance with UL Responsible Sourcing and client audit protocols on facilities working conditions as it relates to established code of conducts, initiatives and/or client programs. Reports will be written in English in an objective, accurate, detailed and timely manner.

Responsible things you get to do:

• Execute accurate, objective and high quality social compliance assessments by implementing all requirements indicated in the client specific procedures, auditor training and audit scope.
• Prepare in advance by downloading and reading audit documents related to upcoming audits
• Document and report the audit findings/observations, communicate audit results to facility management in a professional, objective, and clear manner, submit complete audit reports timely
• Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions taken as a result of audit 
• Cooperate with and supporting other auditors and staff
• Complete all assigned training activities and actively participate in training sessions
• Apply feedback from reviewers, training supervisor, quality manager and client facing team to future work for continuous improvement
• Treat privileged information with discretion and ensuring all audit related documents and results remain confidential and well-guarded
• Update country law profiles for assigned country/region in support of the audit process & advisory services and update appropriate tracking tools
