Wet Chemistry Laboratory Engineer

Sabanci University, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, are looking for a wet chemistry engineers to be employed in SU-KordSA Composite Technologies Center of Excellence (CTCE) which is an industrial-scale research and technology development facility helping all sectors in the field of composite materials and manufacturing technologies and provide an environment to support component design, manufacture, assembly and process prototyping. The CTCE is capable of manufacturing in commercial level thermoset prepregs, provide facilities for graduate education, fundamental research, applied research, product development, incubation services and commercialization opportunities in composite technologies. The center has laboratory facilities divided into 8 distinct laboratories, including, Material Characterization, Wet Chemistry, Polymer Processing, Micro-Nano Manufacturing, Mechanical Characterization and non-Destructive Testing, Autoclave, Advanced Composite Laboratories.

We are looking for a Wet Chemistry Laboratory Engineer to join CTCE. The position reports to Technical and Administrative Manager and is based in Teknopark in Pendik. 

• Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering or related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in the composites and chemical industry
• Experience in R&D or product development in polymers, functionalization, adhesives, composites or related technologies
• Hands-on experience in and theoretical knowledge of thermal characterization equipments such as DSC, DMA, TGA, TMA, thermal conductivity measurement as well as rheometer
• Working knowledge of wet and instrumental analytical techniques
• Proficient in English language 
• Proficiency in MS Office porgrams and Windows operating systems
• Good laboratory skills related to consistent experimental methodology and safety
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• No military obligations for male candidates

İŞ TANIMI

• Plan and carry out complex research projects such as the development of new products and testing methods
• Coordinate technicians and other personnel in testing and analyzing components & the physical properties of materials
• Perform national and international standards and develop relevant laboratory procedures.
• Prepare solutions, compounds, and reagents used in laboratory procedures
• Conduct tests on materials and other substances to ensure that safety and quality standards are met
• Write technical reports that detail methods and findings
• Present research findings to scientists, engineers, and other colleagues
• Prepare and analyze samples with accuracy and reliability
• Order and keep inventory of laboratory supplies as well as general laboratory maintenance
• Ensure proper waste disposal policies are followed
• Communicate effectively and on a timely basis with laboratory supervision personnel about all developments or matters resulting from laboratory work activities
