• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, especially with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Visio.

• 6+ years experience in the installation and project management of hospital information systems preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Ability to manage projects effectively and efficiently. Excellent team building skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of organization personnel, executive management and outside vendors.
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Reacts well to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

• Bachelor Degree with a minimum of five years supervisory and/or management experience in increasingly responsible healthcare management, clinical leadership, or clinical information technology positions.
• A graduate degree in a clinical discipline, MBA, MPH, or Masters in Healthcare Management or Information Technology is preferred.

• Must be able to interact effectively with clinicians, information systems resources, peers, and management staff within the hospital and other relevant institutions and vendors in a manner that represents VKFHI and American Hospital positively.
• Understanding of clinical information systems and/or clinical practice is required including prior experience in the implementation, use, or support of an EMR, dictation and transcription systems, clinical reporting, voice recognition, electronic signature, document imaging, and health information management systems in hospitals.
• Must be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge on government billing and financial flows.
• Understands and communicates trends in healthcare, clinical systems, information technology and point of care products.
• Assists in the development of strategic and tactical plans for hospital information systems.
• Works in concert with Information Services to design, acquire, evaluate, integrate and implement new or convert existing systems to support the delivery of safe, high quality, efficient care.
• Develop understanding of physician needs and build relationships with physicians to assure widespread acceptance, adoption and meaningful use of hospital information systems.
• Must be able to develop the proposed capital and operating budgets of HIS, support other project managers and administrative leaders through the budget review and approval processes, and monitor HIS project’s actual performance on a monthly basis.
• Must be able to collaborate with other IS functions to oversee the design, development, implementation, and ongoing support and improvement of HIS processes and products.
