QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
The “Indirect Category Purchaser” should meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from Engineering, Business Administration, Economics,
- Min 1 year experience in purchasing, especially in indirect materials purchasing,
- Fluent English knowledge is a must,
- MS Office and SAP knowledge,
- Analytical minded, creative, good communication and presentation skills

Şişecam, becoming a strong global company, is now seeking dynamic “Indirect Category Purchasers” who will work for Flat Glass Division at Headquarters in İstanbul to take an important role on Şişecam’s road map to achieve its vision.
This position will deal with indirect (non-production) materials (machines, spare parts, services, etc.) and the person be responsible for:
- Ensure early involvement of purchasing in projects
- Using bundling opportunities in the division in the area of technical equipment, spare parts, etc.
- General observation of supplier market and fulfillment of purchasing marketing activities
- Inquiry and comparison of offers
- Price and contract negotiations
- Monitoring of placements and contracting (procurement process until performance happens)
- Coordination of procurement basics (guidelines, processes, synergies, tools, methods…)
- Reducing and optimization of goods/services costs; using and creating competition
- Process-optimization to reduce internal process costs
- Definition and realization of cost down activities e.g. material down grade, bonus and frame contracts.
