  • University degree from a relevant discipline, preferably from engineering
  • Minimum 5 years experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in a commercial environment
  • Minimum of 2 years Team leader experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including
  • a proven ability to communicate with technical staff across multiple disciplines
  • Focused on the outcome for the team and the company
  • Strong aptitude to learning new skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of systems and process within a complex environment
  • Experience working in a large, enterprise environment with 50+ of Oracle databases
  • Fluency in English
  • Male candidates must have completed their military services


İŞ TANIMI



We are seeking a Database Services Department Manager  with the will and ambition to work in IT Infrastructure Operations Management Function, reporting IT Infrastructure Operations Senior Manager of Vodafone Turkey. 

The Database Services Team is responsible for maintaining the performance and availability of
the production services of Vodafone Turkey and where applicable ensuring that these
production services meet or exceed their prescribed SLAs, with its focus on the administration of all Oracle Databases – production, operational testing and evaluation, staging, testing and development, as well as proof of concept databases as required.

The Database Services team must at all times minimise the potential of an unplanned system outage within reasonable control including providing a rapid-response after-hours support in case of an emergency. This will also involve preparation of procedures, revision of procedures, and ensuring compliance to the same.

The Database Services Manager’s primary responsibilities are to ensure that the key
deliverables are met in the following areas.

People Management
Take responsibility for the overall effective management of the Oracle DBA Team  Monitor, evaluate and report on the performance of the DBA Team members
  • In conjunction with the Infrastructure Operations Senior Manager define and
  • implement KPI’s for the DBA team, in alignment with the Infrastructure Operations Strategy and Operational Plan
  • Coach and mentor the team members to ensure effective and efficient DBA operations
  • Work with Human Resources to identify and develop development plans and conduct regular performance reviews
  • Manage the recruitment and retention of employees within the DBA team

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure that the availability of all production services are maintained at the highest possible level with the tasks below that is taken by the team;
  • Diagnose and lead the resolution of database related issues
  • Perform software releases as required
  • Database availability (capacity and maintenance)
  • Appropriate backup and recovery facilities are in place and functioning
  • Sufficient redundancy for critical components
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring and early warning systems are in place and functioning
  • Suggestions for improvements are made, and where appropriate, implemented
  • Available to respond to database issues in on-call arrangement
  • Perform maintenance work during scheduled outages
  • Ensure that the performance of all production services is maintained at the highest possible level, to meet and exceed the relevant SLAs.
