Head of Actuary & Reinsurance Department

For our search of Head of Actuary & Reinsurance Department, we are looking for a passionate, inventive, thinking out of the box and proactive personality beyond the traditional actuarial approaches. The position will directly report to CTO and manage communication on matters relating to our international partner and represent company abroad.

• Strong analytical and statistical skills with a good blend of social skills,
• Having enough level of experience in similar jobs to develop his/her own way of doing,
• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Engineering from a reputable university,
• Licensed Actuary highly preferred,
• Fluency in spoken and written English,
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office tools,
• Ability to multi task and work well under pressure,
• Work-oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment,
• Programming knowledge of financial tools is an asset,

İŞ TANIMI

Leadership

• Develop strategies that will contribute to the growth and success of Acıbadem Insurance and manage the budget and workforce of the department in line with these strategies
• Question the current way of doing at the department to figure out improvement areas
• Implement Lean Management principles to enhance efficiency and simplicity

Pricing and Product Development

• Analyse the portfolio in terms of product, coverages, prices, other products in the market, profitability of the products and develop new suggestions/strategies about all.
• Coordinate the process of ceding insurance risk considering costs, product development and underwriting support.
• Monitor the profitability and market performance of individual products and determine the accurate level of insurance prices.
• Monitor and update the pricing methodology of corporate products.
• Determine the prices of personal accident and life products.

 
Management of Reinsurance Policies

• Analyse the insurance risk and determine the required reinsurance program of the Company.
• Manage reinsurance treaty life cycle process, including treaty signing, renewal, termination and run-off.
• Analyse reinsurance results to optimize retention and reinsurance costs.
• Maintain relationship with external reinsurers.

Reserving and Reporting

• Valuation of insurance assets and liabilities based on assumptions in accordance with actuarial principles.
• Develop and maintain actuarial valuation models for statutory and reporting purposes.
• Make expense, lapse, mortality and morbidity experience studies to set best estimate assumptions.

ICAAP

• Develop risk principles, processes and methods relating to the assessment of risk measurement models
• Develop and maintain knowledge relating to risk measurement models and the use thereof within the Company
• Provide input in terms of development of prudential standards, directives, guidance notes and circulars regarding risk measurement models to ensure the implementation of sound risk measurement practices
