JOB DESCRIPTION 

Application development team grows Customer Premises Equipmentsoftware bringing upAirTies Wi-Fi products to life and develop new features for the Airties platforms. The role requires awareness of Linux kernel and driver model, as well as an eagerness to bring up embedded Linux platforms and implement and performance tune of wireless & ethernet device drivers. It is an exciting opportunity to work on various topics around Linux kernel, networking subsystems and user space, while working in a first-class team that masters 802.11 wireless standards, IP Networking, bridging and routing.

Key Responsibilities 

• Design, develop, maintain and improve embedded software implementation for AirTies Mesh, Client Steering, AirTouch, Cloud View, Video Streaming, Interference Avoidance and a set of patented technologies of AirTies for Wi-Fi customer-premises equipment
• Improve and build out core software platform and architectures to support multiple hardware platforms 
• Port legacy software platform to next-generation SOC/hardware platforms  
• Analysis and translation of customer internet service provider requirements into software requirement specifications for AirTies Wireless products
• Tailoring core software assets and integrating them into product firmwares
• Ownership of every step in product firmware tailoring, integration and field deployment
• Stabilizing manufacturing and production firmwares and finding solutions to integration bugs individually or with cross teams (core development, test and FAE teams) co-work

Required 

• BSc in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Proficiency in C programming 
• Good understanding of embedded Linux system internals, cross-compilation environments, device driver development, and performance tuning  
• Hands on experience with firmware debugging using a full range of test equipment, especially with Linux soft tools
• Expert about Unix network programming, systems programming, multi-threading
• Good understanding of IP networking concepts and basic understanding of Linux network stack
• Good understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, NTP, HTTP, SSL, UPnP, IGMP, SSH, etc
• Being able to sniff and understand network traffic via wireshark
• Familiarity with iptables
• Familiarity with QoS
• Expert about GNU build system and open source packages
• Familiarity with shell and script languages,
• Familiarity with source control bug tracking tools (Git, Jira, etc...) 
• Highly desired and has the ability to lead as well as work individually 

Nice to have 

• 8+ years of experience 
• Good understanding of computer architectures and real-time programming concepts 
• Experience with IP networking, bridging and routing, IPv6, containerization (LXC), 802.3, 802.11
• Acquaintance with open source tools, philosophy, and community
