Software Engineer - IT

What you will do:

• Taking ownership of issues reported by users and seeing problems through to resolution
• Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve system issues and support requests reported by users
• Development of features on the existing application(s)
• Modification of the inbuild features of the application(s) including bug fixes
• Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
• Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes
• Investigates problem areas
• Follows the software development lifecycle
• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
• Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures

What you should ideally bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer / Software Engineering or relevant engineering field
• Analyzing information
• 3 - 5 years of general programming / OS skills
  o   Experience with Python or Java, HTML, JavaScript
  o   Experience with RDMS and operating systems especially Linux
  o   Experience with web services like SOAP and REST
  o   Experience with micro services
  o   Experience with web development
• Software design
  o   Knowledge of OOP, Design Patterns
•  Software debugging
• Software documentation
  o   Experience writing design specification documents
• Software testing
  o   Knowledge of Code Review and Unit Testing
•  Problem solving
  o   Thinking outside the box, with a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Teamwork
• Software development process
  o   Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  o   Experience with version controlling systems like git
• Other
  o   Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud and Process Cloud will be a big plus
  o   BPM experience is a plus
