Software Engineer - Wifi Application Software Team

The WiFi Application Software team develops generic Airties software features which enhances both Airties platforms and non-Airties licensed gateways. Team members work across the organization, supporting Airties platform, licensing integration and research teams. The role requires deep knowledge of embedded C conventions to develop and maintain Airties propriety user-space applications. It is an exciting opportunity to work on various topics around networking subsystems while working in a first-class team that masters IP networking, bridging and routing.

What you will do:

• Design, develop, maintain and improve embedded software implementation for Airties technologies
• Build/improve application layer modules (E.g., Ipv4, Ipv6, DHCP, DNS, UI, WiFi, IP networking, data intellingence, etc.) that can run on multiple hardware platforms
• Develop automated tests that cover your developments

What you should ideally bring:

• BSc in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5+ years embedded firmware development experience with C, Linux / Unix platform
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Good understanding of embedded Linux system internals, cross-compilation environments
• Good understanding of IP networking concepts and basic understanding of Linux network stack
• Hands on experience with firmware debugging using a full range of test equipment, especially with Linux soft tools
• Familiarity with source control and bug tracking tools (Git, Jira, etc...)
• Acquaintance with open source tools, philosophy and community
• Being able to modularize the software and make it clean to maintain in a clear way
• Hands-on experience in using Linux (both command line and GUI) as working environment
• Documentation is indispensable
• Enthusiastic to apply root-cause analysis for bugs
• Good communication skills
• Open-minded and open to changes in terms of development methods

Nice to have:

• Experience with network products
• Sufficiency in cross platform development (cross compilation, limited memory and CPU)
• Sufficiency in software development life-cycle phases
