Senior Design Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

As an international consulting and engineering firm, we are looking for a Senior Design Manager to join our office/site team in Istanbul.

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in architecture from reputable universities.
• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in design management of building projects.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in design management of interior design projects and/or luxury hotel/high-class residential buildings.
• Experience in Client facing roles is a must.
• Experience in construction sites is preferred
• Experience in restoration projects is a plus
• Excellent command of written and verbal English
• Excellent in inter-disciplinary project coordination and management of multidisciplinary design teams (Architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, fit-out, FF&E, IT/AV, security etc.)
• Effective presentational and interpersonal skills are essential
•  Strong planning and organization skills
  

• Ability to communicate professionally with projects stakeholders, architects, clients, other consultants and contractors is essential
• Being proficient at working to tight deadlines and being able to prioritize tasks delegated by other team members
• Working knowledge of Autocad and Revit
• Able to travel

• No military service obligation (for male candidates)

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Being one of the key staff responsible for the successful delivery of Arup’s design management services within the project management field
• Reporting to the Site Project Manager/Project Manager and the Project Director
• Providing the communication and coordination between the Client, the Designers/Consultants and the General Contractor
• Acting as Arup team’s daily point of contact for all design related topics, be in direct communication with the Client
• Managing the General Contractor in all aspects related to Client’s design requirements, ensuring the design activities are functioning properly and contributing to procurement, cost/budget, programme and site works accordingly
• Liaising with Arup technical supervision team for the review of General Contractor’s submissions.
• Thinking strategically, planning the next steps, providing options to the Client with a solution-oriented mindset.
