Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Expert

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Expert. The selected candidate will be working in our Istanbul Office.

· Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines from reputable universities,

· Master’s degree is preferable,

· Excellent command of English both written and verbal, 

· Working experience in multinational and English-speaking environment,

· Energy Manager certified,

· Energy Efficiency Auditor certified,

· Min. 3 years of energy audit experience,

· Min. 10 years of total work experience,

· Knowledge of ISO 50001 (Energy Management System) Standard,

· Experience on Test and Commissioning procedures,

· Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar applications, 

· Knowledge on building LCA and carbon accounting (preferably),

· Familiarity with green building project processes,

· LEED and/or BREEAM accreditation,

· Experience in building energy modeling and sustainable building design,

· Experience in working with building energy analysis tools HAP, IES, eQUEST, EnergyPlus, etc.

· Industrial energy efficiency experience is a plus,

· Experience in working with International Finance Institutions (World Bank, EBRD, EIB… etc.) funded projects (advantage),

· Excellent knowledge of Turkish and International energy codes, regulations, and processes on building construction and operations. 

· Experience and knowledge about energy-efficient HVAC, BMS, IT and lighting systems, also advanced systems such as ground source heat pump, district heating-cooling, cogeneration-trigeneration, renewable energy systems such as solar, wind, biomass, hydrogen...etc.

· Willing to work in coordination with other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, infrastructure, cities…etc.)

· Effective communication and presentation skills,

· Strong problem solving, technical and reporting skills,

· Team player, result-oriented with strong planning and organization skills,

· No travel restrictions (national & international),

· No military obligation for male candidates

JOB DESCRIPTION

· Conduct, supervise and/or report of energy audits in industry and commercial buildings

· Savings calculations of energy efficiency projects

· Technical and financial and risk analyses of energy efficiency projects

· Cost-benefit analyses of energy efficiency projects

· Prepare and supervise the energy efficiency retrofit project detailed design and technical specifications (bill of quantity, cost, and pay-back period estimations)

· Coordinate the commissioning process of projects, control and manage the quality of third-party documentation (commissioning plan, test, reports, etc.)

· Support green building certification process of projects

· Conduct required preliminary and final energy analyses of green building projects

· Support design teams on energy-efficient HVAC systems

· Support the energy team by concluding building energy simulation and calculations (about building orientation, façade, envelope, and system selection) for design optimization in conceptual project phases of projects

· Develop sustainable strategy for energy efficient and low/zero carbon projects

· Prepare extensive reporting and documentation in International Finance Institutions funded projects

· Attend all relevant technical coordination meetings and workshops
