Civil Procurement Engineer

International Group – Istanbul, Turkey

B.L. Harbert International (BLHI), a USA based international design-build, construction management, and general contracting company, is looking for a Civil Procurement Engineer to work with our International Group in Istanbul, Turkey. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Turkish and English, as a daily responsibility will be coordinating with on-site construction teams, buyers, and outside vendors.

Responsibilities:

·      Main responsibilities will be structural steel, reinforcing steel, Specialty Fabricated Steel Products, GFRC, Formwork/Scaffolding, Stone, General Construction Procurement, etc.

·      Obtain and compare quotes, then negotiate with vendors on lead-time, cost and quality so as to obtain the best value for BLHI

·      Track and expedite project materials with vendors for international project sites

·      Coordinate with BLHI USA-based and on-site project engineers/managers to ensure necessary materials are ordered

·      Engineering and operations participation and coordination, as needed

·      Convert Purchase Orders from Purchase Requisition in ERP (BLHI’s procurement/material tracking platform)

·      Analyze outstanding Purchase Orders in ERP system to assess if closure is required

·      Follow-up ERP generated overages, shortages and damages reports with vendors

·      Generate ERP reports to analyze other pending procurement issues

·      Amend Purchase Orders in ERP as required

·      Preparation of the payment requests per Purchase Order terms

·      Quality check and inspection of construction materials received in warehouse, as appropriate

·      Assist Estimation Department with vendor pricing exercises, as required

·      Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

·      Turkish Citizen or Lawful Registered Resident

·      Degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study

·      3-5 years construction industry experience

·      Experience with MS Office Suite

·      Must be living in or available to relocate to Istanbul, Turkey

Preferences:

·      OBO or other USA government agency construction experience

·      Experience reviewing project drawings, specification and related technical documents

·      Must be willing to travel throughout Turkey and Internationally for business needs
