Mechanical Engineer

International Group – Istanbul, Turkey

B.L. Harbert International is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work with the International Group in our Istanbul, Turkey office.Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Turkish and English, as a daily responsibility will be following up with on-site mechanical coordinators, buyers, and outside vendors.

Responsibilities:

·       Oversee the development of mechanical design on Design-Build projects

·       Carry out Value-Engineering (VE) and Constructability Studies

·       Carry out Life-Cycle Cost Study Analyses (LCAAs)

·       Carry out Construction Contract Administration (RFIs/Submittals/O&Ms/REAs, etc.)

·       Carry out Quantifications of Material and Equipment

·       Issue Purchase Requests (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs)

·       Be primary liaison between project teams and suppliers for all communication

·       Support On-site Project Coordinators and Site Personnel as needed

·       Develop coordination drawings for field use and shop drawings for construction

·       Coordinate vendor start-ups and commissioning

Requirements:

·       Turkish Citizen or Lawful Registered Resident

·       5+ years’ industry experience

·       Site work experience

·       Ability to relocate to Istanbul, Turkey

·       Proficient with Microsoft Office products

·       Proficient with estimating/quantifying software such as: BluBeam Revu, On-Center-Takeoff (OST), Fast Est (FastDUCT/ FastPIPE), Trimble MEP or similar programs

Preferences:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

·       Basic Electrical Understanding

·       Commissioning and Balancing experience

·       Troubleshooting experience

·       Instrumentation and controls experience

·       Shop drawing development experience

·       BIM/3-D modeling experience

·       Experience in Warranty or Preventative Maintenance of Large Mechanical Equipment

·       Must be willing to travel throughout Turkey and Internationally for business needs
