Legal Counsel

 We are seeking a business-minded Legal Counsel to join our legal team.

The Legal Counsel will assist the business in managing Turkey-based legal operations. 

REQUIREMENTS - SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE /SKILLS /OTHER COMPETENCIES

• 4 years’ law school degree (from reputable Law Schools, Master's Degree (LL.M) is preferred)
• Qualified legal practitioner admitted to the Bar.
• Minimum 3-5 years of PQE
• Preferably, at least 2 years experience in FMCG or any related industry as in-house counsel
• Considerable legal project management experience (M&A, regulatory compliance, contract management etc.)
• Experience in personal data protection law,labor law, contracts law, intellectual property law, and dispute management
• Proficient in spoken and written English language
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Able to work and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• No travel restriction
• Located in Istanbul

MAIN RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Participation in corporate & legal projects (M&A, regulatory compliance, personal data protection, contract management, etc.) and ensuring that projects are completed in a timely manner.
• Coordinating external legal resources
• Managing disputes and litigation processes (Quality of advice and guidance, compliance of law and risk allocation.)
• Ensuring that business operations and stakeholders are sufficiently protected from unapprised risks & liabilities.
• Assisting  Legal Manager in managing the priorities and pressing issues to meet the deadlines and commitments to internal clients
• Assisting  Legal Manager with managing the requests of Banvit business units basically with regards to personal data protection law, corporate governance, contracts law and labor law
• Ensuring the renewal of corporate documentation, including trade licenses, POA’s, Board Resolutions and other corporate certificates and registrations.
• Assisting Legal Manager with managing AGM and Board meetings: agendas, minute taking and follow-up actions.
• Providing reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep the Legal Manager informed of the operation and progress of compliance effort.
