QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

OBJECTIVE

  • Calculation, control and declaration of monthly, quarterly and annual tax responsibilities
  • Following the VAT refund processes, completing deficiency letters and necessary documents
  • Controlling transfer pricing processes, checking quarterly the arm’s length transfer price
  • Invoice processes overview
  • Managing tax investigation processes
  • Determining and checking VAT rates on sales and services purchased
  • Making contacts with tax office regarding Banvit operations and tax obligations
  • Work alongside the accounting team to ensure the tax impacts are reflected correctly in our books
  • Providing SOx evidences monthly and quarterly for the processes under our responsibility
  • Following the tax legislation and informing relevant departments in case of changes raising impacts or tax saving opportunities to Banvit
  • Providing internal tax advisory for new operations or processes, acting as a business partner
  • Performing tax calculations during closing periods monthly

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Declarations

  • Preparation of VAT 1, VAT 2, Recovery Participation Contribution Margin and Form BA-BS declarations
  • Control CIT, Advanced CIT, Withholding and Stamp Duty Taxes

VAT Refund Process

  • Provide reports from ERP systems
  • Preparation of deductible VAT list, export declaration lists, export invoices etc.
  • Load the relevant lists to the system
  • Revise the records in tax office system
  • Preparation of deficiency letters

Transfer Pricing Process

  • Supporting on the definition of the TP strategy
  • Preparation of TP study in a quarterly basis
  • Supporting the preparation of the TP Documentation

Analysis the overseas invoices

  • Analyze invoices issued by the company in terms of VAT and withholding tax
  • Double check accounting bookings

Tax Investigation Process

  • Provide documents and information requested by inspectors
  • Interpretate final reports

Approval of VAT Rates

  • Check VAT rates on purchasing and sale invoices comparing them to the list published by tax office

Tax Office Procedures

  • Preparation of response letters regarding the requested subjects
  • Make contact with responsible person and discuss criticized issues

Coordination with Accounting Team

  • Control records regarding VAT which is done by accounting team
  • Support for branch closing VAT records monthly
  • Record accrual transactions for VAT side
  • Support on the defense strategy in case of a tax assessment

Sox Controls

  • Provide VAT declaration and Transfer Pricing documents monthly and quarterly
  • Perform a risk mapping regularly on the tax area of Banvit

Following Tax Legislation

  • Get e-mails from PWC and other consultancy companies regarding tax legislation updates
  • Inform relevant departments in case of a significant tax legislation change

Agreement Controls

  • Analyze the contracts based on tax legislation
  • Calculate stamp duty amounts and inform contract owners

Closing Periods

  • Record branch closing transactions regarding VAT
  • Finalize VAT accruals
  • Perform CIT calculations monthly

REQUIREMENT & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Law or similar
  • Fluent level of verbal and written English and Turkish (preferably mother language)
  • German or Portuguese is a plus
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant working experience in a multinational organization or large Audit Firm
  • Declaring monthly, quarterly and annually the VAT, Withholding Tax, Stamp Duty, Advance CIT, CIT, Form Ba-BS
  • Experience with Turkish Tax Legislation
  • Have a strong financial knowledge
  • Checking accounting bookings to identify the best tax treatment
  • Strong risk management knowledge and application
  • Experience with Tax Investigation Process
  • Following tax litigation process
  • Preparing legal books

Preferred Candidate

More than 6 years of experience
Bachelor’s(Graduate), Master’s(Student), Master’s(Graduate), Doctorate(Student), Doctorate(Graduate)
Exempt, Completed
