Summary: 

To support the development of new business opportunities for the Turkish market for aerospace electromechanical actuators, ball screws, bearings and gears as well as sustaining our partner UMBRAGROUP products in service. To give technical support towards the commercial departments and to liaise with customers regarding technical issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides technical support to potential customers and sales representatives.
  
• Assists customers and field sales personnel with the interpretation of customer specifications, drawings, and schematics.
  
• Provides applications and technical recommendations to customers.
  
• Represents customer technical interests to product development, sales, and marketing teams.
  
• Communicates and negotiates with customers to define project requirements and negotiates technical requirements such that technical specifications are understood at the time of tender
• Works with the product development team and the customer to ensure that designs meet the customer requirements. 
• Assists in developing product specifications and product standardization strategies to meet market needs. 
• Provides guidance on the configuration, installation, and use of UMBRAGROUP products.
• Maintains awareness of UMBRAGROUP technical and manufacturing department workload and commitments.
• May make schedule and technical commitments on behalf of UMBRAGROUP technical departments within the limits delegated by the design manager.
• Supports commercial department in market analysis, identifying opportunities for product innovation, and defining strategies for improving product offerings.
• For projects not assigned a dedicated program manager, coordinates the technical activities during project development from proposal phase through entry into service, meeting the programs deadlines
• Accesses and documents customer configurations and user requirements.
• Follows up on client support issues to ensure satisfactory resolution.
• Works with the Engineering group to assist in duplicating and resolving customer-reported product defects.
• May participate in new product and application validation with the Umbra Engineering Team.
• Maintains awareness of R&D activities of UMBRAGROUP engineering depts. 
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position requires regular travel (approximately 25% of time) for customer face to face meetings and to the Foligno, Italy facility.

• Strong in both written and oral communications
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with broad experience in electromechanical systems. 
• Ability to work well across functional groups including engineering, test, manufacturing and sales. 

 Education/Experience:
 Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (BS) in engineering from four-year College or university; plus 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability: 

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, procedure manuals, professional journals, government regulations, and technical procedures. Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, top management, and employees of the organization. Ability to accomplish common mathematical calculations, in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, as well as trigonometry. Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, and have better than average interpersonal skills. 

Computer Skills: 
Must be computer literate, and knowledgeable in Windows XP, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and the company ERP program. Capability to understand issues related to design activities with CAD programs such as NX and Solid Works.

 Physical Demands:

 The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb/balance, reach, talk and hear, work near moving mechanical parts, and occasionally work near fumes or airborne particles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment. The employee may be required to work in loud environments.

 Work Environment: 

Mostly an office working environment, but the position involves a certain amount of time spent on the factory floor working in a manufacturing environment where the noise levels are low to moderate. When on the production floor the employee is occasionally exposed to working near moving mechanical parts. The job duties that are affected by the environmental conditions are of a typical manufacturing environment and its equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Safety glasses and hearing protection are required when on the shop floor. All requirements are subject to modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
