QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose and Organizational Context

Based in RBEC’s Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH) for Europe and the CIS, the RBEC Regional Programme Coordination and Country Office Solutions Team works under the direct oversight of the RBEC Deputy Regional Director in support of the RBEC Regional Director, and is principally charged (1) to serve as a one-stop-shop for management and technical support for requests from COs to various UNDP units, to provide solutions and support needed at the country level; (2) to provide regional programme coordination and results-based management; (3) to ensure programme monitoring, oversight of country offices, including monitoring of programme performance, support and follow-up to compliance and quality assurance exercises (such as planning, monitoring and evaluation exercises).

Under the overall guidance of Deputy Regional Director and direct supervision of the Chief of the Regional Programme Coordination and Country Office Solutions Team, the Country Office Solutions Associate performs functions that support the Country Office Solutions Team and the Deputy Regional Director of the Istanbul Regional Hub. The Country Office Solutions Associate promotes a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations. S/He works in close collaboration with other central units at HQ, the Regional Bureau and the Istanbul Regional Hub in Istanbul for resolving complex proqramme-related issues and information delivery.

 

Duties and Responsibilities - Summary of Key Functions:

  • Assistance to the team’s representation & coordination function;
  • Support to CO portfolio management support;
  • Assistance to CO planning, evaluation, monitoring and reporting activities;
  • Programme and administrative support.

 

Recruitment Qualifications:

 

Education:

  • University Degree or equivalent would be desirable, but it is not a requirement.
  • Secondary Education with specialized secretarial training.

Experience:

  • 6 years of progressively responsible programme and/or administrative experience is required at the national or international level. Applicant’s in possession of a First Level University degree (i.e. Bachelor’s or equivalent) require only 3 years of relevant work experience. 
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English, both oral and written, is required; 
  • Working knowledge of other UN official language is an asset
