SENIOR MERCHANDISER_HARDGOODS AND HOUSEWARE

OBJECTIVE

Ensures to identify the best supplier park able to provide the most competitive products at the best purchase conditions to meet the countries demand in compliance with legal and quality requirements of the group.

Follow strictly the sourcing strategies advised by the Sourcing Manager

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure the quality and the reliability of the supplier park  

•  Constantly ensure the re-enforcement of the sourcing to find most suitable supplier park to fit with the category priority.
• Guarantee the update of the supplier scorecard to ensure the performance expected.
•  Take part in the definition of the supplier strategy and ensure its application.
• Analyze the capacity of the supplier’s production to ensure the production lead time and the time delivery.

- Ensures best product offer in line with buyer’s request or suitable with the market  

• Constantly challenge the supplier park to find most accurate and product offer.
•  New developments and market trends are monitored and if suitable suggested to DCMG and the BU.

-Respond timely to requests and suggest retro-planning 

• Requests from BU are taken into account, studied and timely offers are prepared according to the needs and target price where applicable.
• Ensures that sample requests are fulfilled on time (supplier/Quality/ DCMG/Countries).
• BU needs are anticipated, sourcing activities are planned ahead of time to ensure to be close to the markets.
• Keeps close communication with appointed buyers to enable a favourable working environment.

-Ensures efficient negotiation to get the best result

• Apply the tools provided during negotiation training programs. 
• Guarantee the organization and accuracy of the negotiation records to ensure the negotiation are properly conducted.   
• Report the performance result of the negotiation for each collection/tender with provided tools to his hierarchy.

  ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE

- Watch out market situation to re-enforce the professionalism and expertise  

• Monitor and understand the production seasons, risks and opportunities in the relevant sourcing zones.
• Check and follow up the actual market situation for all products families with the support of magazines, Internet, discussion with suppliers, trade fairs, specially organized sourcing events…and propose to his hierarchy.
• Prepare well ahead of tenders/collection (available suppliers, possible price development, packing requirements, volumes)

-   Ensure the relationship with Support departments (Quality, operational team…) 

• Organize regular meeting with support departments to update status of all developments and / or on going matters.
• Studies work procedures and suggests improvements when necessary.
• Knows Collection planning and ensures that deadlines are respected.

-  Communicate clear information to country buyers, merchandisers and hierarchy on a regular basis 

• Full utilization of the Group’s tools (PSS, TBQ…).
• Gives efficient and clear information to all involved parties about status and problems with solution proposal.
• Proactive, positive and problem solving mindset and privilege alive communication.

-  Follows-up Key Indicators of activity: shipment timing, sourcing follow-up, negotiation follow-up, commission

• Follows-up the sourcing & price situation and prepares action plan when necessary
• Provides hierarchy updated status on key collection steps
• Follows objectives strictly and shares results with hierarchy
