QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
We're looking for a ‘Purchasing and Procurement Manager’ who will be responsible for all import export operations of equipment,materials, services as well as local purchases. He / She will be directly reporting to Project Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review contracts and PO’s with contractors/service providers to ensure best pricing and in compliance with legal requirements and/or government or outside agencies,Supervise buyers under his/her control.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure specifications, quality expectations, and delivery dates are met,
- Establish meetings (in conjunction with all affected internal Depts.) with suppliers and/or potential suppliers of product related raw materials or services
- Allocate requisitions authorized by users.
- Preparation of RFQ documents,
- Follow-up for placing orders within reasonable times.
- Expedite those purchase orders to avoid past due delivery times and shortages at the mine site.
- Weekly report on the status of each requisition and purchase order to the various users.
- Prepare legal contracts and pass them for signature for any negotiation that requires it.
- Monthly reporting of the Procurement department.
- Any other set forth by other legal, regulatory, or company’s provisions and that fall into its scope. Other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Very good numerical and analytical skills
- Strong communication, negotiation , programming and organisation skills
- Experience in similar procurement role ( minimum 10years);
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Professional background in mining, finance or a related discipline;
- Ability to make strategic decisions, strong negotiation skills, and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving and trouble shooting skills, strong attention to detail and strong analytical skills,
- An ability to communicate and work effectively with other employees and contractors using tact, courtesy, and good judgment.
