SQL DEVELOPER

We are looking for SQL Developers to be a part of our team in our group company located in Czech Republic. The company is a POS software developer, developing own POS system for hospitality and catering segment for more than 20 years. It is the number one on the Czech market with quite impressive list of references. Development teams are international and all development is in English. The developer will work from home in Turkey as an individual entrepreneur.

We are currently increasing our existing SQL development team and searching for new developers for full time remote employment. More than 90% of POS system and its application logic is written in PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL) and users are working with thin clients for classic desktop or web browser. Now we have a lot of great ideas to make our system much better and more comfortable for our customers. That is why we are searching for more SQL developers. It is not only about development of set of feature, it is also about long term cooperation and continuous development and improvement of our database based POS system.

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Minimum 3 years of work experience in SQL development,

·       We require excellent SQL knowledge, independent on database, knowledge of PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL is an advantage,

·       Any other knowledge (Delphi, Lazarus, Python, Linux, XSLT, …) from IT is always an advantage,

·       Ability of daily usage of English, whole development is in English, written and spoken is used,

·       We are interested about full time cooperation only (8 hours per day, 5 days per week),

·       Motivated self-starter and team-player with strong problem solving and analytical skills,

·       Demonstrated understanding of tools and projects from the perspective of clients and business,

·       Attention to details,

JOB DESCRIPTION

What will be your duties:

·       20% SQL tables, indexes and database queries,

·       65% application logic in pgSQL,

·       15% other tasks related to application development,

What could developer expect from us:

·       We will force him to produce applications designed to be easy and simply to use,

·       We think, that developer must provide high level of quality and "alpha tests" are part of his work

·       We are not developing without prior analysis and written instructions (description),

·       We are forcing developers to follow formal rules, including use of our bug tracking system based on Bugzilla and development according with prior made documentation,

·       We are using best practices from extreme programming, test driven development, team work and other suitable methods,

·       We are not developing application on request/order (turn key, single purpose), our applications are long term developed, supported and alive. Single sources are used by more than 1000 customers,

·       We prefer development in Linux environment (and we use Linux for server environment) although we have to survive with Windows users,

·       Applications quality (including internal source code) is very important for us,

·       Developer will be part of team developing applications, that are loved by their users.
