Role Description

As the System Engineer, you will get the unique opportunity to be a part of a crossfunctional engineering team developing technologies and innovative product solutions across the Automotive Cockpit Electronics Sector.

This position is responsible for elicitation, analysis, documenting and maintaining the requirements specification and modelling the system architecture for cockpit electronics like in-vehicle infotainment, instrument cluster, display, etc.

Projects may include the development part of externally OEM-funded or internally funded research and development programs. For all assigned projects, the System Engineer works closely with R&D Engineering disciplines especially with Software and Hardware Engineering team also with Project Management Office, Business Development.

Role Responsibilities

• Defines and manages the scope of a development project to ensure continued alignment with contract

• Responsible for requirement management and architectural design activities on system level at the concept or development phases

• Work with OEM customers to define their needs and features into specifications

• Analyse customer and other stakeholder requirements

• Clarify technical requirements and convey technical decisions and proposals to the customer and vice versa

• Define, release and update the systems requirements based on customer and stakeholder specific requirements

• Manage requirements attributes, allocation, prioritization and categorization of requirements

• Manage requirements in requirements management system

• Tracking and reporting of completion of requirements

• Architectural design according to related modelling frameworks (SYSML, SYSMOD, ARCADIA, etc.), including functional analysis and decomposition, use case analysis, behaviour analysis, logical and physical architecture

• Defining alternative solutions and trade-off analysis for optimum architecture

• Evaluate alternative solutions with software, hardware experts

• Facilitate review of requirements and architecture with software, hardware and IVV experts and follow up of review issues

• Support technical and/or critical design reviews of development lifecycle

• Ensuring the traceability with requirements, architecture and sub-domains like software, hardware, etc.

• Manage and support change/problem management (change and problem analysis)

• Support configuration management activities in systems engineering domain

• Support through the entire product life cycle, from development to production launch of the product

• Support systems integration and validation, software, hardware engineering groups as required

• Follow up Automotive SPICE standards in systems engineering domain

Role Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science etc.)

• 3+ years of relevant experience in automotive industry in the field of system development / requirements engineering

• Knowledge of automotive electronics system architecture, interfaces and communication (Cockpit electronics, head units, infotainment systems, instrument cluster, USB, BT, CAN, LIN, MOST, etc.)

• Able to specify system requirements and perform requirements review/analysis.

• Able to model system architecture

• Experience in model based systems engineering and system modelling frameworks (SYSML, SYSMOD, ARCADIA, etc.)

• Familiar with embedded system, software and hardware design

• Familiar with software intense system development lifecycle and processes (V-Model, Automotive SPICE / ASPICE, CMMI)

• Experience in using requirement management, ALM tools (Codebeamer, Polarion, DOORS, etc.)

• Experience in using modelling tools (Enterprise Architect, Capella, Rhapsody, etc.)

• Able to communicate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.

• Have a positive attitude, good oral and written communication skills, and able to work well in a team environment

• IREB, ASEP/CSEP certificates are a plus
