This position manages assigned construction projects and also serves as a mentor and subject matter expert for the more complex construction activities throughout the other regions. Assists the architectural design team in designing and developing architectural plans. Ensures all construction projects are completed within budget and necessary timelines. Serve as a liaison between the company and the general contractors.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspects construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
  
  

• Manages contractual commitments for general contractor including costs, quality, and schedules.
  
  

• Inspects quality of work in accordance with the standards specified in the design documents.
  
  

• Maintains effective communication and coordination between the company and the general contractor to ensure timeliness and accuracy of projects.
  
  

• Attends owner, architect, and contractor meetings to identify issues and provide guidance.
  
  

• Conducts owner punch-lists. During the facilitys final walkthrough, ensure that all construction details are completed. Record a list of all items and details that need to be achieved, before the construction project is completed.
  
  

• Serves as a mentor to Regional Facility Administrators to ensure they understand the complexities of a construction assignment and provides them insights to effectively performing their jobs.
  
  

• Provides oversight to existing facility construction projects.
  
  

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• ability to work independently on projects, knowledge of how the projects need to be completed, and the ability to ensure that contractors work within necessary budgets and timeframes. (A combination of education and applicable work experience may be taken into consideration based on managements discretion.)
  
  

• Ability to lead and mentor other employees within the department.
  
  

• Ability to read and understand construction documents and progress schedules.
  
  

• Ability to understand contracts between the company and general contractors.
  
  

• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  
  

• Excellent verbal, communication, and organizational skills.
  
  

• Ability to work on several projects at the same time with ever changing deadlines.
  
  

• Ability to travel extensively with numerous overnight stays on projects.
