Main Responsibilities:

·       Work with the Legal Manager, Head of Legal (when needed) to ensure the Legal Department’s workflows and policies are up to date and implemented across the business unit and regularly monitor compliance in relation to relevant workflows;

·       Draft, negotiate and review all kind of agreements and relevant documents regarding the Companybusiness in media and telecommunication sectorsespecially content licensing, acquisition and distribution of scripted, non-scripted and factual programs and formats, including without limitation broadcast, digital, advertising sales, format sales, music licenses, marketing, production agreements (in house), service and other commercial contracts;

·       Analyzing, drafting, negotiating, finalizing, and overseeing the approval process for all kinds of agreements including ensuring the follow-up of the rights and obligations of the Company within the framework of the contracts, be aware of the signature processes are completed also.

·       Draft, negotiate and review agreements setting out scripted series and programs for SVOD, free to air channel and digital platforms, work proactively with company’s business affairs, to acquire or sell the contents, and act both as the licensee and/or licensor side;

·       Work closely with Company’s Sale, Acquisition, Content, Finance, HR, Digital and IT unites enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by providing efficient legal affairs processes and systems to give accurate and timely counsel to business in a variety of legal topics regarding their daily need.

·       Remain current on new technologies and rights issues in the media and telecommunication landscape, updating and advising teams of industry;

·       Ensure that terms and policies (cookies, privacy and terms and conditions) are maintained up to date in accordance with local data protection regulation; ensure the company business are in line with the  relevant rules and regulations.

·       Working with the Legal Manager in creating and maintaining template agreements;

·       Co-operate as part of a team of lawyers and other business affairs professionals and, as appropriate in other regions required to also support the business in a timely and effective way;

·       Work with the Legal Manager on developing efficient training/compliance programs to inform the business units in a correct and relevant matter of legal and compliance risks

·       With moderate supervision of a Senior Counsel lead dispute management and regulatory units.

·       Handle disputes, actual and threatened litigation in protecting the copyrights and copyrights related issues of the Company as well as claim management matters in order to mitigate risks and capture opportunities, work with and supervise external counsel if needed.

·       Identify legal issues; assess and calculates the risk as per different business scenarios and offers legal solutions arise in the day to day operations in all areas of contractual arrangements; litigation (if needed); commercial practices;

·       Make necessary applications (if needed) and on behalf of the Company and its affiliates before the related governmental authorities.

Basic Qualifications required for this position are as follows;

·       Excellent written and verbal communication in English and in Turkish

·       This role would suit someone withat least 5 years PQE, however you are also welcome to demonstrate the necessary skills and knowledge in order to fulfil the role

·       Intellectual property law experience within the media industry is preferable

·       Expertise in television, ideally in the area of formats, international distribution, merchandising and licensing

·       Expertise in digital media is an asset

·       Experience and knowledge in consumer protection law and subscription based services/platforms;

·       Ability to recognize and respond quickly and pragmatically to urgent situations

·       Strong business and legal advisory skills with an international commercial mind-set

·       Sets priorities and delivers in a demanding, fast-paced and results-oriented environment

·       Determine appropriate action/solutions to more complex legal and business issues and articulate them to clients

·       Able to communicate in multi-cultural business environment

·       Strong communication and negotiation skills

·       Strong follow-up and organizational skills

·       Have decision making, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.

·       Experience working with senior management.

·       Experience a general knowledge in corporate law and corporate governance is an asset
