QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

DROGSAN Business Development (Portfolio Management & Strategic Alliances) Department is responsible for determining long-term strategic targets of the company, providing efficient and effective management of its current product range, selection of new products, and establishment and maintenance of the necessary strategic alliances in accordance with these targets.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, International Relations or Business Administration
  • A general understanding and knowledge of principles and practices of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in business development & marketing is an asset
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Strategic mind set and ability to identify and evaluate business opportunities
  • Cross cultural understanding and international mind set
  • Good networking and communication skills and ability to build strong internal and external relationships
  • Analytical and result-oriented thinking, interest in research and analysis
  • Problem solving skills
  • No military obligation for male candidates

  • Assists BD Manager in identifying or evaluating new potential products/projects suitable for the long-term strategic targets of the company, conducting relevant market and commercial analyses, and preparing business plans,
  • Monitors new developments and new products in the local and global pharma industry within the priority therapeutic areas and reports to BD Manager,
  • Follows up the processes with the cooperating companies and assists in establishment of coordination between related departments for commercialisation of new products under registration,
  • Participates in negotiations and correspondences with companies in Turkey for business models such as Co-Marketing, Sales & Marketing Rights Transfer, and Marketing Authorisation Transfer, evaluation of collaboration opportunities, and their presentation/reporting to General Manager,
  • Participates in preliminary communications and commercial negotiations with foreign licensor companies for new products to be in-licensed,
  • Participates in negotiations with partnering companies regarding revised commercial terms for supply according to the changing economic environment and market necessities,
  • Establishes good relationships, carries out studies to improve collaborations and to increase the number of products or business volume with the business partners,
  • Contributes to development of relationships with pharmaceutical companies in Turkey, follow-up of their activities, and evaluation of possible collaboration opportunities,
  • Assists BD Manager in reviewing and evaluating the terms of agreements, negotiating them with the counter parties and enabling their execution,
  • Monitors compliance with terms of agreements with collaborating companies and follows-up processes of renewal, amendment and termination,
  • Prepares reports and presentations on business development activities of the department, and assists in development of written corporate communication materials,
  • Works closely with related departments and ensures successful coordination of different functions in the company such as R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Production Planning, Quality Assurance, Legal, Business Excellence, Strategic Planning, Marketing and Sales for business development projects,
  • Participates in local and international meetings, congresses and exhibitions to represent the company,
  • Conducts research, registration and preparation processes for the relevant organization, including investigation of participant companies, identifying potential partners/industry stakeholders to meet, and making appointments,
  • Assists BD Manager in reporting and follow-up of meeting/seminar notes,
  • Follows up local pricing and regulatory legislations.
