JOB DESCRIPTION

•       To report directly to Etikrom General Manager and functionally to YILMADEN HESSR Director.
•       Participating in and carrying out the studies for the establishment, implementation, monitoring and development of Health, Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility (HESSR) policies and procedures in compliance with YILMADEN HESSR Management System and national laws.
•       To ensure that all activities carried out in the areas of business responsibility comply with legal regulations, Head Office (YILMADEN) HESSR Global Operation Procedures and international standards.
•       Developing site strategies according to Company and Head Office HESSR strategies and presenting them to site top management, developing and implementing a strategic plan according to this strategy.
•       To ensure that all implementations related to the department are carried out in accordance with ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management, 45001 Occupational Health and Safety, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards and ISO 26000 Social Responsibility standards.
•        Participating or performing Internal and External audits, audits to ensure compliance with international and national legislation and corporate HESSR programs.
•        To ensure that budget studies related to HESSR issues are carried out and to submit them for  top management approval.
•       To create the "Environmental and Waste Management Policy", and action plans in accordance with the "Environmental Sustainability Strategies" of the company and the Head Office, together with the top management, and to ensure that the necessary procedures are carried out to announce them to all employees and third parties.
•        Provide coaching to employees at all levels, and manage/support good safe working practices to holistically enhance our HSE culture.
•        Guiding/managing HESSR activities with cross-departmental collaboration (root cause analyses, trainings, risk analyses, etc.)
•        To determine KPI and HESSR targets, to keep performance records and to regularly report results and trends to the company top management in order to ensure continuous improvement.
•        To manage the risk analysis studies at the design stage regarding the ongoing works and investments/changes to be made, and to present to the management all important issues that may affect the health and safety of our employees and the environment and society in the areas where we carry out our operations, together with appropriate risk management measures.
•       In order to reduce risks in business processes and increase HESSR awareness, to lead identification, development, communication and continuous improvement initiatives of best practices.
•        To support the development of a HESSR culture through the establishment, implementation and monitoring of compliance of all departments' operational procedures with a proactive perspective, and monitoring of internal and external Corrective & Preventive Actions.
•        To keep detailed records of all injury accidents and all other HESSR related incidents/accidents, to ensure that root causes are properly investigated, to identify lessons to be learned and to develop relevant programs by examining trends, to ensure that necessary legal reports are made.
•       Develop, implement and test emergency management/response programs.
•        To prepare quality reports, analyzes, policies on HESSR on a daily basis and to report independently to field management and Head Office.
•        Communicate daily with managers, employees, external stakeholders, auditors, etc. to cooperate with local emergency teams and legal organizations periodically.
•       Within the scope of social responsibility strategies, local government, public, sub-employers, employees and customers etc. to ensure appropriate communication with all other stakeholders and to carry out social responsibility projects.
•        To monitor, measure and evaluate the working performance of the team, to carry out studies to increase their motivation and performance.

Qualifications

•       University degree in a related field, preferably in engineering (Mining, Environment, other related functions).
•        To have at least 5 years of management experience in Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility.
•        Have at least 4 years of mining experience (preferably underground mining).
•        Having at least 15 years of total HSE or HESSR experience.
•        Having strong knowledge of working with local laws on Occupational Health, Safety and Environment, ISO and EN standards, fire standards such as NFPA and UL, bank requirements such as EBRD and IFC, and other relevant national and international regulations and standards.
•       To have a Class A Occupational Safety Specialist certificate.
•       It is preferable to have well-known international certificates such as NEBOSH and IOSH in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment.
•        To have Work experience e in an organization with a functional (matrix) structure.
•        To have strong experience and ability in cross-functional leadership and management, strong organizational ability.
•        Strong leadership and team development abilities.
•        Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills in Turkish and English.
•        Abilities to manage and prioritize multiple projects at the same time.
•        Have proven success in bringing about a cultural change in the field of HESSR.
