QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Character Requirements
Due to increased business, we have a vacancy in our Istanbul branch for a full time Assistance Claims Handler We need someone who is committed and highly-motivated to learn the business. The candidate does not have to have experience in this field but must have the following:

  • Excellent English and Turkish both verbal and written
  • Be flexible, as the job demands being on-call out of hours, both during the week and weekends on a rota basis
  • Willingness to self-study to understand our region, local knowledge of our area and surrounding countries is essential
  • Willingness to help people, thinking outside the box, persistence to find the right solution
  • Process orientated
  • Generally good IT skills 

The main duties are as follows:

Policy Holder Assistance 

  • Being assigned tasks from our global online system and liaising with medical / logistics providers to book appointments, track medical reports, request updates, arrange evacuations and obtain invoices for payment
  • Liaising with our assistance hubs in Madrid, Prague, Helsinki and Thailand
  • Finding creative ways to assist policyholders if normal methods do not work
  • Identifying providers to senior members of staff as potential preferred partners
  • Liaising with in-house doctor for translations, medical reports and any necessary assistance in cases.
  • Complying with all in house policies and regulations at all times

Claims Handling

  • Registration of invoices, sorting and allocation for filing as well as entering into system
  • Assisting with ex-pat registration / payments if needed

Education Requirements

  • There is no specific requirement for this role but we would expect someone who has finished high school
  • Having fulfilled military service (for male candidates) 

Working Hours

  • Working hours are Monday-Friday 9am to 6pm
  • On a rota basis, the employee will enter into the on-call out of hour’s schedule, which will mean 1 week in every 3-4 being on call for 7 days. This will be from Friday evening to the following Friday evening
