• BS degree in Engineering Departments from reputable universities. MS degree is an asset
• Excellent command of both verbal and written English
• 2 - 5 years of experience, preferably in an FMCG company
• Multiple roles that have been both plant and corporate based with a strong track record of Packaging Materials Development and Optimization
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Scope Of The Position

This position will be responsible for the research & development and optimization of all packaging materials. This will include developing innovative packaging formats in conjunction with the Sales, Purchasing, Production and Marketing teams from concept through implementation, optimization of existing packaging materials to drive value and developing and implementing consistent processes and management of packaging material revisions. The individual in this role will be required to effectively interface cross functionally across (Sales, Marketing, R&D, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Purchasing etc.) as well as with customers and packaging materials and equipment vendors. It will be necessary to partner with packaging materials Suppliers to understand their capabilities, challenge their processes for improvement and leverage their capabilities to deliver continuous improvement and innovative solutions.
 
 
Job Description

• Creating, managing and facilitating process for new packaging introduction or optimization of existing packaging
• Developing innovative packaging solutions in partnership with R&D, Marketing and Sales to deliver a competitive advantage in the market place
• Drive cost savings on packaging materials via optimization in partnership with purchasing and Suppliers
• Be in synch with business strategies across all segments as well as industry and market place trends and leverage to lead packaging innovations and developments
• Understand manufacturing processes and technologies and how packaging materials can affect performance of these
• Strong project management skills to develop robust time lines and cost estimates for initiatives
• Influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization and communicate effectively
• Effectively Interface with Operations, R&D, Engineering, Finance, Purchasing, Marketing and Sales teams to facilitate ideas and influence across multiple functions and layers of organization
