Job Profile

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design and Cost Engineer who will work within Business Development and Proposals team, work along internally with Engineering, Procurement, Execution, Commissioning teams and work along externally with Vendors, Subcontractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers, and Investors to make the project a success for society.

Decisions you will make in each phase of proposal preparation will determine the success of the project and yours as well. You will work at the very heart of where the destiny of the project will early be determined.

We are not solely looking for a design and cost engineer with great technical skills but also a business-minded engineer who will bring together different perspectives and parties with varying priorities and often conflicting interests for a common goal: the success of the project.

Job Description:

·        Design of the mechanical and electromechanical equipment and systems of a power plant by applying principles of mechanical engineering discipline including but not limited to Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Energy Conversion, Fuels, and Fluid Mechanics,

·        Management of engineering interfaces between equipment and systems,

·        Determine cost estimate targets during the design and development process and recommend cost-effective solutions,

·        Identify and understand the Client’s requirements stated in the technical specification through an iterative clarification process,

·        Prepare requests for proposal packages including technical specifications, drawings for equipment and service procurements,

·        Collect the proposals from vendors and subcontractors and assess the completeness of the scope, compliance with the specification and competitiveness of the proposal,

·        Establish and maintain a good working business relationship with vendors and subcontractors,

·        Prepare proposal documentation in relation to the mechanical engineering discipline,

·        Prepare process and flow diagrams for the proposal documentation,

·        Generate ideas and tools in order to improve the cost calculation and estimation process.

Skills and Qualifications:

·        8 - 10 years of job experience preferably in the power generation industry

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

·        Master’s Degree in the relevant engineering and energy/power fields is an asset

·        Familiarity with power generation equipment and systems

·        Excellent command of verbal and written English

·        Good command of AutoCAD and MSOffice products

·        Preferably experienced in Thermoflow and Soundplan

·        Ability to deliver high-quality work on tight deadlines

·        Quick learner with an ability to grasp new information in a rapid pace

·        High willingness to learn new information through working in a dynamic environment with a diversified portfolio of projects

·        Self-starter and persistent performer

·        Result driven with attention to details

·        Team-work skills (communication, collaboration, contribution, coordination, influencing, mediation, persuasion etc.)

·        No travel restrictions
