Role Summary/Purpose :

The Logistics Sourcing & Operations Leader – Grid Solutions Manufacturing Sites will be responsible for development & implementation of Global Logistics Strategy, driving sourcing initiatives to maximize savings, delivering improvement of logistics cost and productivity by developing and implementing strategic improvement projects for Grid Solutions Manufacturing sites. She / He will provide leadership and expertise globally to GE Grid Global supply chain.

Essential Responsibilities :

Review financial statements, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and/or improvements.
• Participate to simplification projects. Provide strong support of process improvement related availability & quality of data (i.e. spend, savings, supplier)
• Work cross-functionally with Freight Payment Companies, 4PL’s, Logistics Service Providers, Manufacturing Sites, Country Logistics Sourcing, Direct Sourcing, customs brokerage teams and any other business stakeholders to identify improvement and productivity opportunities and implement successful changes.
• Interact with global teams (sourcing personnel & key functional/business stakeholders) to define and drive execution of the cross-GE projects in the region
• Lead global logistics initiatives
• Develop & execute logistics sourcing strategy by working closely with manufacturing sites for identifying key lanes, opportunities for Frame Agreements. Planning and launching RFQ’s.
• Support Manufacturing Sites for Inbound & major Outbound (General Cargo) Spot RFQ’s.
• Coordinate with Direct sourcing team (local or 911 for PO > 100k not supported by FA)
• Support GSA negotiations and driving implementation and utilization of Frame Agreements
• Drive project execution and supplier management from project identification, supplier selection/ contract negotiations to project implementation. This includes ongoing global supplier relationship management including spend analysis, supplier development, supplier risk, performance, compliance and surveillance to meet overall deflation, cash, supplier rationalization and productivity objectives within the assigned sub-commodities at a regional and local scale – Manage adequate operating rhythm with key suppliers (i.e. Quarterly Business Reviews)
• Incorporate use of key levers into the regional strategy (preferred supplier penetration, Cash, usage) to maximize savings and cash impact including tracking of targets & reporting progress
• Support Manufacturing Site on any service or tool (TMS) related operational issue
• Work with Logistics Service Providers to resolve any operational issue, define and implement corrective actions
• Support Manufacturing sites on transportation claim process; ensure claims are getting resolved timely
• drive optimization and standardization of logistics processes across Grid Solutions Manufacturing Sites
• Mentor , train and managing functionally Manufacturing Site logistics sourcing & operations resources.
• Be aligned with Global Commodity Manager for Special transportation (Power Transformers)
• Define operating rhythms with key contacts to ensure successful execution of GE projects as well as best practices sharing; gathering of requirements; communication of market drivers, category strategy, goals/targets & project updates & implementation, etc
• drive visibility through projects/tools and develop KPIs for measuring end-to-end process performance.
• Support the planning cycles (Blue Print, SII, Op Plan, etc.…) and metrics reporting
• Work cross-functionally with 4PL’s and/or country logistics sourcing, manufacturing sites, Logistics Service Providers, customs brokerage teams and digital teams to design and implement tools.
• Ensure that internal & external customers needs are met and that company policy and international trade compliance regulations are adhered to.

Qualifications and requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business Management, Engineering or Technical Degree from an accredited university or college
• Expected 5-10 years Logistics operations, Sourcing Quality
• Minimum 3 years experience in Logistics and supplier management
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong customer service and results oriented mindset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and SAP
• Demonstrated leadership and technical aptitude.
• Ability to organize, assess, prioritize tasks, milestones and deliverable.
• Team player & can-do attitude.

• International experience working successfully with cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence people and drive change at all levels of the organization in a complex matrix organization
• Strong financial, quantitative and data analysis skills
• Six Sigma trained and certified (GE employees only).
• Proven project management skills demonstrated through solid execution track record, experience to manage complex global projects including ability to drive change in a team-based matrix environment,
• Knowledge of purchasing processes, systems, ERPs, fulfillment KPIs and analytics
• Ability to work in an international, cross time zone, and multicultural environment
• Ability to handle a heavy workload, multiple & changing priorities, and constant deadline demands
• Proactive self-starter – ability to understand and respond to need without close-direct supervision while meeting job deadlines, Can-do attitude
• High level of organization skills, analytical thinking, and facilitation skills, including solid presentation, verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of the Logistics industry, including products and services, and it’s latest Sourcing/Sales trends.
• Willingness and ability to travel at least 25% of the time regionally and internationally
• Preferred location: Turkey, Eastern Europe (Czech Republic & Hungary)
