Logistics Operations Specialist - Wind EMEA

As a member of the Outbound Logistics MENAT team you will focus on operational project logistics matters. You will manage the logistics of multiple Wind projects in an international environment.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Plan and monitor all transports (sea. land) from GE or supplier facilities to construction sites in cooperation with applicable internal functions and LSPs.
• Advise for and operate most efficient transport strategy, incl. modes, routing, transport equipment, delivery schedule
• Coordinate and track pick-ups and deliveries with LSPs and port operators on daily base
• Operationally order services, process Accounts Payables invoices
• Manage sea transports: vessel planning (for projects, initiatives), RFQ/booking in cooperation with GE’s Ocean Logistics Centre of Excellence, document control (BL, BN, demurrage/detention etc.)
• Coordinate port operations like vessel discharging, vessel loading, storage in Port of Export / Port of Import, communicate handling instructions
• Manage product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements; issue/maintain transport and im-/export documentation, liaise with Import / Export functions
• Work on vendor claim management and vendor recovery, e.g. send out Non-Conformities, liability notes etc.
• Operate and communicate logistics related EHS and quality processes, incl. Non-Conformance/ Incident procedures, supplier quality audits by Sourcing Quality function
• Ensure operational carrier compliance with GE policies or procedures for product handling, storage, transport
• Re-examine current practices considering changing business environment, new vendors and requirements
• Identify and implement saving opportunities
• On-the-ground supervision for logistics execution at active project sites
• Liaise with site assessment-preparation team, project management team and customer’s functional teams to make sure that road conditions are set ready for a flawless delivery of components

• Relevant work experience in logistics related functions with focus on heavy haulage road and sea transports
• Completed vocational training in logistics (e.g. shipping agent) or university degree in logistics related subject to demonstrate applicable knowledge base
• Proven, certified knowledge of import / export matters to manage international transports
• Extended skills in customs procedures
• Experience in managing international business transaction and shipping documents
• Proficiency in ERP operations, preferably Oracle applications such as Oracle Races, SSS
• Clear thinking mindset to understand complex situations and act adequately
• Self-confident and persistent characteristics for price negotiations and vendor claim management
• High communication skills with the ability to work with and through global, cross-functional teams including internal customer, suppliers, and service providers
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks with a proven ability to meet hard deadlines
• Fluent verbal and writing skills in English; and German or Spanish
• Experienced in reading the big data and mining metrics driven numbers to create reliable KPI sets
• Advanced MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint proficiency
• Min %35 travel required
