Evaluate strength and durability of structural and rotating engine parts under engine operating conditions.
Carry out stress analyses, LCF life predictions and failure investigations for current and new engine designs in support of engine certifications and qualifications.
Provide analysis support to new product introduction design reviews and assist consequent design iteration efforts.
Analyze repairs in support of manufacturing and field issues, investigate structural functionality of non-conforming features.
Coordinate tasks with global GEAE teams throughout modeling, post-processing and assessment phases.
Interpret simulation output and validate results with manual calculation as required.
Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE Aviation Engineering customers
Requirements/ Qualifications:
University degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (post graduate study is highly desired)
Preferably 5-7 years of experience, as a stress analyst
Experience in Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS or other commercial FEM software
Familiarity with CAD (Unigraphics or other commercial CAD software)
Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations
Proficiency in common MS Office tools
Excellent command of written and spoken English
