Role Summary/Purpose:

To create concepts & designs of world class, cost effective, high quality and reliable electrical design of Power transformers based on customer’s specs and to prepare designs, calculations, drawings and specs for procurement, quality, test & manufacturing functions. 

Responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering Dept., including design, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement. 

Collaborating with design/purchasing and shop/assembly teams on design projects. 

Essential Responsibilities: 

•Understanding national and international design standards and necessary design tools. •Ensuring components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards 

•Using specialized software to analyse magnetic circuits, electro-magnetic fields, insulation strength and verification of electrical adequacy of products. 

•Following up the project from beginning to the delivery and examination and analyze the customer specifications. 

•Following non-conformance reports and taking necessary preventive actions. Attend engineering & production reviews to produce error free designs & reliable products, to reduce the cost of nonquality and to insure adequate performance of the unit. 

•Analyzing customer complaints and respond to them. 

•Preparing the tender and/or contract design, taking in account international rules and national standards, using the appropriate GE standards and tools, relying on material specifications (technical understandings, costs, procurement loop), and manufacturing capabilities 

•Develop and maintain business relations and effective communication with suppliers, to benefit from their support & to support suppliers in production of quality components. •Aware of the company and local EHS policies, rules and standards. Performing the preventive/corrective actions in collaboration with EHS team to avoid the accidents, incidents and environmental damages. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college. 

2-4 years of experience in related field.
