QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

THE ROLE

This extensive role has two broad objectives: On one hand to lead the Company’s core finance functions, on the other hand to identify and manage financial risk. Both come with a strong mandate for change in terms of lifting standards and improving efficiency, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who is seeking to make an impact. We are looking for a person with strong integrity and a broad financial skillset, who can display a healthy balance of commercial leadership and analytical rigour. The position is in effect the “second in command” in the Finance Department, with strong opportunities for career progression. We will be offering a competitive salary package to the right candidate.

 

The role will be evolving over time in response to changes in the company’s dynamic business environment, however, key priorities will always include the following:

n  Be an engaging leader of a team of 7 Finance and Accounting staff, providing development, coaching and training in key skillsets

n  Improve internal controls, strengthening the Company’s ability to identify financial risks and effectively managing them

n  Optimise the Company’s cash position, while improving forecasting and day-to-day cash management

n  Ensure compliance with Credit Policy. Work tirelessly to reduce collection risk, while owning the Company’s credit review process

n  Simplify and streamline tools and processes for TGAAP and IFRS reporting, including balance sheet reviews and half-yearly reporting processes

n  Optimise capital control processes, including capex reporting and forecasting

n  Own the Company’s budgeting and quarterly financial forecasting processes, and drive improvements

n  Optimise the Company’s tax position, engaging external auditors in producing better outcomes

n  Actively participate in and/or lead Focused Improvement Teams and Kaizens

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Competencies

n  Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field. CA/CPA and/or MBA desired

n  10 years’ work experience or more

n  Strong proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint

n  Hands-on experience in ERP systems (e.g. SAP)

n  Strong spoken and written English

n  Rigorous, but with ability to plan and deliver on time

n  Results-oriented, yet able to deal with ambiguity

n  Great people and leadership skills

n  Analytically minded, yet solution-oriented

n  Unafraid to speak up, but calm under pressure
