We are looking for a Junior Non – Key Expert for an internationally funded Project in Turkey.

Starting: Immediate

Input: Full-time

Duration: Two years with possibility of extension

Position: Authority Liaison and Community Relations Expert

Location: Turkey

Main Tasks:

·        Serve as a Point of Contact

Contact point, representing the Engineer under the supervision of Senior Authority Liaison and Community Relations’ Expert, to the End Recipient, Contractor, State Authorities and End Users for Authority Liaison and Community Relations at the locations where the project is implemented.

·       Hold Community Outreach Meetings

Schedule outreach meetings with local community members to discover their issues and concerns. Following such meetings write reports to share insights, document complaints and take actions. Organize follow-up meetings.

·       Handle Publicity and Visibility Activities

Organise Publicity and Visibility activities, such as hosting events, making presentations, maintaining contact with State Authorities

·       Manage Help Desk

Investigate and determine the source of complaint, provide initial response to all complaints, keep the complainant informed of the process until the complaint is resolved.

Qualifications and Skills

·      Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline;

·      A masters or a higher degree in communication would be an advantage;

·      Excellent command of written and spoken skills in both Turkish and English;

·      Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, good listening skills and analytical skills;

·      Ability to establish and maintain excellent contacts with colleagues, government officials and community representatives;

·      Ability to translate from/to Turkish/English and vice versa

·      Ability to multi-task, prioritise, coordinate complex tasks and cope with tight deadlines.  

·      Strong community liaison, mobilisation and negotiation skills required;

·      Working knowledge of MS Office Applications required;

·      Strong communications skills and ability to work with a team composed of representatives from the Contracting Authority, the End Recipient, the Engineer and the Contractor to achieve project goals.

General Professional Experience

·      At least 5 years of general professional experience;

Specific Professional Experience

·      At least 3 years of professional experience in communication and liaison;

·      Experience working with national and international organisations;

·      Proven ability to write news items;

·      Proven experience in social media management will be an asset.
