Job Purpose

The role holder is a key player in the delivery of IT projects that meet the needs of the business. The role is responsible forleading a team of programmers undertaking the development of new functions and facilities and the ongoing support of live systems and also performing system development work. This role is also responsible for defining and implementing work practices and standards during development and implementation.

This role includes development of new functionality as well as oversee and participate in the production support of live systems. The Jobholder is also in charge of implementing work practices and standards and quality monitoring in IT, during development, implementation and daily use.

The Job holder also

Oversee and participate in testing activities of new projects, small enhancements and fixes.

Has the responsibility to train junior staff and provide system assistance to the team.

eviews and ensures compliance of the processes / activities managed under responsibility with SOX and compliance requirements

Ensures compliance to laws, regulations, local and global HSBC policies and procedures.

Programming:

ensuring that accurate, clear, commented and efficient program code is produced from a wide range of specifications. The role involves taking instructions, usually in written or diagrammatic form, and translating them into a code.

Working in teams the role holder may specialise in a few code languages and technologies, which relate to the business area in

which they work.

Certifications, Qualifications & Experience

·Graduation from an Engineering Department, Computer Programming ,Mathematics, Physics

·Knowledge on computer programming with the hands on experience at .NET, Java, MSSQL and Oracle.

·Knowledge on financial products, services and regulations

.Clear understanding of banking regulations and procedures related with his/her responsibilities areas

·Knowledge of the project management lifecycle

·At least 5 years’ experience in a development role

·Proven technical expertise in an IT role

·Exposure to all stages of the application development process, from specification & design, development & testing, through to implementation, and training

·A strong level of technical expertise

·Communication and interpersonal skills

·Strong leadership and management ability, motivating IT employees

·Strong business focus and understanding.

·Knowledge of Global Banking and Markets products

·Knowledge of Investment Products (equities, VIOP) and trading systems

·Ability to find practical solutions to problems and oversee resolution.

·Potential and willingness to improve knowledge, skills and competencies.

Potential and willingness to work with remote, multi lingual and multicultural teams. .
