Production Planning Engineer

As a Production Planning Engineer, you play a key role in our factory producing light electric bicycles, vehicles and parts.

Your main task is to prepare short, medium- and long-term production plans, execute production according to the production plans and report production performance. While performing all these tasks, you effectively coordinate and communicate with other departments such as production, quality and logistics. 

Tasks

• Responsible for scheduling, operational purchasing, production control and short to long-term order planning
• Ensure and coordinate the on-time delivery of raw materials, semi-finished products and final products to our customers
• Control and optimization of production planning processes and systems
• Introduction and expansion of effective deviation management, especially with regard to on-time delivery and capacities
• Conception and development of a long-term capacity planning together with the sales department as a basis for further plant planning
• Coordination of production workflow for one or multiple products
• Plan and prioritize value stream(s) to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
• Develop capacity expansion requirements/plans, determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand
• Support preparation of product costs, non-recurring engineering costs, proposals and documentation
•  Work with Customer Project Management, Sales and Manufacturing to ensure most effective value stream(s) with minimum production/delivery delays
•  Support to coordinate and implement Engineering Change Orders in the production plans and respective value stream(s)
• Together with production team and plant management schedule shift according to production needs
• Monitor jobs to ensure if the job is finished on time and within budget
• Monitor and obtain output information (number of finished products per defined time period, percentage of production stops, percentage of non-conforming products etc.)
• Prepare and present status and performance reports
• Collaborate with production, quality control, logistics, purchasing and other departments

Job Profile

• The degree is expected to be in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in ERP/MRP/CRM platforms (preferably CANIAS, SAP, Infor, Oracle or similar)
• Experience in PLM platforms (preferably PTC Windchill, Siemens Team Center or similar)
• Always decides on the right balance between efficiency and effectiveness (prioritization of tasks)
• Result oriented and strong driver: Ability to deliver results
• Proven knowledge of production planning and control principles
• Find alternative solutions to achieve targets instead of sticking to initial ideas
• Proactive conflict resolution and problem solving, a perfect communicator,
• Fluency in written and oral English (additional language skills preferred, e.g. German, Spanish, Italian etc.)
