An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work for office and field within the Mechanial Engineering Department of our company.

Requirements:

• Bachelor and/or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering,
• 5+ years relevant experience in similar position in power business in energy sector, experience about power plant engineering and/or construction on EPC basis,
• Strategic orientation with a detailed knowledge power plant systems, processes and components, especially diesel/gas engines and combined cycle power plants,
• Knowledge with Design, Engineering & Construction functions in particular,
• Competence in P&IDs, flow diagrams and mechanical design with piping,
• Knowledge of materials, welding, mechanical processing and dimensioning of parts, able to prepare P&IDs, flow diagrams, specifications, piping specifications,
• Knowledge about power plant components i.e. gas engines, radiators, pumps,etc.,
• Competent user of relevant design software packages (Autocad, Solidworks),
• Experience in overall piping, layout and 3D model/ engineering design,
• Proven experience in using Autocad 3D Plant for piping and process design,
• Able to perform pipe stress analysis,
• Knowledge about general coordination of civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines in terms of superposing foundations and steel structures,
• Able to prepare piping BOQs and RFQs for procurement activities,
• Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work in an exciting, fast paced environment,
• A desire to perform hands on work,
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail,
• Highly motivated and innovative designer,
• Customer focus: capability of changing perspectives and adapting strategies and actions to the dynamic environment,
• Excellent command of English both written and spoken,
• Good knowledge of application technology / software,
• Able to travel both domestic and abroad,

Job Description:

• Performing integrated plant engineering design activities in coordination with other disciplines,
• Liaising with relevant teams to support design tasks (i.e. simulation, component engineers, testing, suppliers and manufacturing),
• Designing and/or specify mechanical equipment in accordance with contract requirements, applicable codes and standards, P&IDs, equipment and material specifications, and requirements of other engineering disciplines,
• Calculating, designing and producing drawings for piping, etc.,
• Working with technicians and project engineers to troubleshoot problems and improve the mechanical design,
• Preparing technical specifications, equipment engineering & design calculations, drawings and data sheets,
• Preparing equipment purchasing specifications and material requisitions,
• Providing technical assistance, direction, and support during the construction and installation activities,
• Providing engineering support to the construction/commissioning phases of projects,
• Assistance in execution of piping system and power plant projects,
• Follow and promote company health and safety campaigns, policies and procedures, and ensuring personal safety and that of colleagues at all times,
• Ensuring that all Project Documentation is managed according to the requirements of then Project Quality Plan and project specific requirements,
• Problem solving and application of good engineering principles,
• Adaptablility for flexible working hours,
